Activism Guide 2018

So, you want to make sure Republicans win in November, but don’t know where to start? My name is @ScottPresler and here are (13) ways you can become an activist:

  1. Sign Wave

Sign waving is an important tool, especially to motivate, encourage, and inspire others to take action. Almost every single weekend, I go out to a busy street corner, sign wave, & always have someone take a picture. Take note of what I did in this tweet:

-I sign waved using a hard-hitting, easy-to-understand message

-I had someone take my picture

-I amplified my message by posting on social media

-This tweet was seen over 1 MILLION times!

-Other people on Twitter started sign waving because of this

Here are other examples of signs you can make:

  • Veterans before illegal aliens
  • Trump’s tax cuts gave me more money
  • It’s racist for democrats to choose illegal aliens over Americans
  • I support our police

*Tip: Make sure the letters on your signs are thick enough, so drivers can read them at a stoplight

  1. Think Strategically

I spend a lot of time at coffee shops. I’ve handwritten 2,000 thank you letters to Trump voters across the country in preparation for the November 2018 elections. Where you sit in a coffee shop, especially if you have your laptop, is critical:

-Wherever I go, I always have on a Trump button or shirt

-I have Trump stickers on my laptop

-I sit strategically at drive through windows, so everyone can see me

-Goal: To get the maximum amount of eyes to see all of your Trump gear

Remember: Your motto is “Speak up or others will speak for you.”

  1. Bumper Stickers

Yes, I am going to ask for you to put a bumper sticker on your cars. Every bumper sticker is worth $250 in free advertising!

  • I park my car strategically
  • Either a Trump or Republican bumper sticker will do

*Tip: If you would like a Trump bumper sticker, please email me your name and home address to: ScottPreslerStickers@gmail.com

  1. Volunteer at Your Local Republican Office

After President Obama was reelected, I thought to myself “I can sit at home and complain, or I can be a part of the solution.” So, I started going to my local GOP office, fell in love with politics, and that’s how I began my journey.

  • Google your local city/county and the words “Republican office”
  • For example, if you live in Jacksonville, FL, Google “Duval County Republican office
  • This is the first thing you’ll see: http://duvalgop.com/
  • Call/visit the office & make it clear you want to volunteer and help elect Republicans this November

  1. Donate

Whether you have $50 or $5, I cannot stress the importance of having a well-funded Republican Party. We absolutely must contribute to our party if we’re going to defeat the democrats this November.

Due to President Trump’s tax cuts, I make an extra $51.99 per paycheck. Besides mailing bumper stickers to voters, I also donate to the GOP.

  1. Register to Vote

  1. Become a Poll Worker

It’s critical that Republicans are inside the polls on Election Day to ensure our democratic process. An added benefit of becoming a poll worker is you get paid for your work.

  • Google your local city/county and the words “Voter registration office”
  • For example, if you live in Jacksonville, FL, Google “Duval County voter registration office”
  • This is the first thing you’ll see: https://www.duvalelections.com/
  • Fill out the poll worker application or call the office to find out how to apply
  1. Write a Letter to the Editor

I’ve had several letters to the editor published (even about Debbie Wasserman Schultz). It’s a great way to get your name and message out to voters.

-Click here for a list of publications you can submit your letter to

-It includes instructions, as well as word requirements

*Tip: The goal of a letter to the editor is to persuade your audience to agree with you on something

For example: “I agree with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act because I not only receive an extra $51.99 per paycheck, but the legislation prompted companies around the nation to give millions of Americans bonuses and wage increases.”

  1. Town Halls

Louis Farrakhan is the leader of the Nation of Islam. Farrakhan is a racist bigot, who hates Jews, gays, and white people. Several democrats, like Barbara Lee, Keith Ellison, and Maxine Waters, have direct ties to this racist. We must not only go to the town halls of these individuals, but we must put all democrats on the spot who are running for office. The goal is get video of us asking democrats if they will disavow Louis Farrakhan. If they choose not to disavow, we have video proof that they support a racist bigot.

  • You can find local town halls near you here:
  • Plan to go to a town hall with a friend & make sure they video your question

  1.  3 By 3

3 by 3 means reaching out to three of your neighbors three times. This is a great way to build relationships, show that you care about your community, and get out the vote this November:

  • Knock on your neighbors’ doors who live (1) across the street, as well as (2) to your left (3) and right
  • If your neighborhood is not set up this way, then just choose 3 neighbors
  • First contact: “Hi, my name is ________ and I’m your neighbor. I just wanted to introduce myself and make sure you’re registered to vote at this address. It’s so important that we get out and vote for jobs, a strong economy, and putting the American people first.”
  • Second contact: Write each of the 3 neighbors a handwritten thank you card after your first visit. “Hey, ________. This is ________. I just wanted to say it was a pleasure talking to you the other day. If you ever need anything, please don’t hesitate to stop by.”
  • Third contact: Before Election Day, on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018, visit these 3 neighbors one last time and remind them about the Republican candidates running for office

  1.  Have a Game Plan

This November, democrats have to defend 26 Senate seats. Yes, democrats have to defend over ¼ of the Senate. Not only that, but 10 of these seats are in states that President Trump won. Having a game plan means focusing on the most vulnerable seats, first. If the election were held today, democrats would lose Indiana, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, and West Virginia. Similarly, democrats are also below 50% approval in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Republicans currently have control of the Senate by 1 vote (51-49). We are vulnerable in Arizona and Nevada, which are both Republican seats that could flip to the democrats. With this being said, we need to focus heavily on training volunteers, voter registration, and grassroots organizing in the following states:

  • Indiana, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, and West Virginia (D)
  • Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin (D)
  • Arizona and Nevada (R)
  • Minnesota (2 Senate democrats up for election)
  • We have the potential to add 12 Republicans to the Senate

  1.  Letters To Voters

Introduction

This is an official project of @ScottPresler designed to flip democrat Senate seats Republican. This November, there are 10 democrat Senators up for election in states that President Trump won. The most vulnerable seats are in Florida (Nelson-D), Indiana (Donnelly-D), Missouri (McCaskill-D), Montana (Tester-D), North Dakota (Heitkamp-D) & Ohio (D-Brown).

Our goal is to write handwritten letters to Republican voters in these 6 states to:

  1. Remind them about Election Day on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018
  2. Increase name ID for our Republican nominees
  3. Identify the policies our Republican candidates are fighting for
  4. Encourage voters with the message that their votes do matter

This strategic effort to push voters to the polls, who do not normally vote in midterm elections, will help Republicans increase their Senate majority.

  1.  Churches

Faith voters turned in out large numbers to elect President Trump. We need to continue engaging communities of faith and remind them that they need to vote. With only a few Sundays left until Election Day on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018, here’s what you can do:

  • Google Churches near you
  • Locate the largest Church
  • Identify what times the Church has services
  • Make a plan to hold signs outside before Church service begins & ends
  • Your signs should be geared towards the faith community
  • “Religious Freedom. Vote Republican.”
  • “Vote your values. Vote Republican.”
  • “Pray AND vote Republican.”
  • Sidewalk is public property & you have every right to be there

*As always, thank you for your support. I am forever grateful at the constant love I receive from all of you daily.
