This Week We…

Math: Took our Mid-Module Assessment on Place Value. Began exploring multi-digit addition.  Family Tip Sheet 


ELA:
 Module 1 Family Tip Sheet

Examine how someone can show a great heart, figuratively. Investigate how biographies build knowledge about a great heart. Finally begin to use focus statements and evidence in writing an informative paragraph.

Science:

Wrapped up moon phases and explored earth's tilt &  rotation. Took our final assessment.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL):

Launched our second step curriculum on empathy and respect.

Next Week We Will…

Math:  Continue exploring multi-digit addition. Begin practicing multi-digit subtraction.

ELA:

Begin to investigate what it means to have a great heart, literally. Investigate the word part circ. Notice and wonder about The Circulatory Story as we organize our thoughts of what is happening.

Reading skills we will work on

  • determine main idea and how it is supported by key details
  • Use reference materials to clarify key vocabulary
  • Identify and explain figurative language

Social Studies: Begin our first Social Studies unit! Dive into our new textbooks focusing on North Carolina history.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL):

Continued our second step curriculum on empathy and respect.
