FSRC Severe Weather Cancellation Policy
Policy
The following policy is in effect regarding severe weather, for events such as decathlon, training, etc.
- For thunderstorms or other severe weather events, the event organizer (or designee) may make a decision at the event to pause or cancel — if decision is made to pause the event, participants may be asked to seek shelter in their vehicles for a period of time until a new assessment is made
- In some cases, the organizer may decide in advance to cancel the event. If this occurs, best effort notification of event cancellation is made via Facebook group, email message (to entire club), as early as possible after the decision
- While the club will try to give its best guidance, participants of any event are solely responsible for their own safety, and should act accordingly
- Policy for cancellation of club races such as Market Street Mile and Women’s Distance Festival 5K, is up to the race director, as each race has different availability of shelter, etc., and therefore cannot all be covered under one policy
