Subject: Texas reporter, 4 pm deadline today, inquiry about Texas and block grant Medicaid

For a fact check, I write to ask if the state of Texas, including Gov. Greg Abbott, has approached CMS about getting Medicaid block-granted in Texas. Abbott has been governor since early 2015.

 

If so, please elaborate.

 

Generally, what would it take for a state to have Medicaid block-granted?
