TMS - DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

September 11th, 2026

Good morning, Triad Middle School!

Today is September 11, 2026—the 25th anniversary of the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. We pause today to remember the people who lost their lives, honor those who helped others, and reflect on the strength of communities.

Twenty-five years ago today, terrorists hijacked four passenger airplanes. Two planes struck the World Trade Center in New York City, one struck the Pentagon near Washington, D.C., and a fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers and crew members courageously resisted the hijackers.

Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives, including passengers, workers, firefighters, police officers, emergency medical workers, and other first responders. Many ordinary people also showed extraordinary courage by helping one another during and after the attacks.

In the days and years that followed, people across the country demonstrated unity, resilience, and compassion. September 11 reminds us that kindness, courage, and community matter—especially during difficult times.

We honor those remembered today by serving others, including people who may feel alone, helping our neighbors, listening with care, and choosing compassion in our daily actions. Small acts of kindness can strengthen our entire school community.

We now invite everyone to observe a brief moment of silence to honor those who lost their lives, the first responders who served, and all the families and communities affected by September 11.

Crusader of Character:, Aubrey Pellum  8th grader -

Nominated by: Mrs. Ruch

Congratulations to our Crusader of Character for the day: I would like to recommend Aubrey Pellum for Crusader of Character. Aubrey regularly takes the time to come into my classroom and write positive, motivational sayings for my 7th-grade students. Her thoughtfulness and encouraging words help create a positive atmosphere and set a wonderful example of kindness and leadership for younger students. Aubrey truly demonstrates what it means to be a Crusader of Character!
