We are finalizing costs soon and will have the total soon as well - things that will affect final price is whether or not your athlete will be on the chaperoned plan or if you will be providing transportation for your athlete - consider... There are still a couple of rooms in the block for families / parents traveling to the meet. The rate is $139 + tax. If you are interested in a room please mail Dave Anderson
- Boilermaker Early Bird at Purdue - it’s been a while since we have traveled to Indiana and to this meet. It’s a good early season LCM meet and time standards are not hard. This meet is open to all 13 & O athletes who have the time standards. You need to commit early because the the entry process requires us to be ready on the minute entries open. Families must commit by 3/24. This meet will not be team travel - meaning athletes and their families will take care of their travel and hotel. We will make/have a block of rooms at an area hotel.

Schroeder South
1. This Week’s Practices:
Link: Schroeder South Practice Schedule
- If practice is cancelled due to weather, the schedule will be updated immediately, and an email will be sent to each family.
2. SST South Lost and Found @Greendale Pool:
When caps, goggles, suits or fins with no name are left at any of the pools we practice at, the coaches bring them to the Greendale Pool and put them near the team bulletin board. Right now there is quite a collection of goggles and SST caps, so please check to see if they belong to your swimmer(s).
3. Importance of Swimming in Meets:
- Swimmers are expected to participate in ALL of the meets on their group’s schedule. Meets are fun, and they’re why swimmers and coaches work so hard at practice (not to mention parents driving to practice, working out schedules, etc.).
- Please commit your swimmer by the meet entry deadline. Swimmers who decline a meet are expected to communicate the reason why in the message box.
- If you have questions, please email or talk to your swimmer’s coach before or after practice.
4. Championship Meet Info:
This is an exciting part of the swimming season, with many meets on the schedule this session. Here is some info on each meet.
A. Wisconsin YMCA Sectional Championship (3/15-16) @ Pabst Farms YMCA in Oconomowoc: This is the major YMCA championship meet for all swimmers who do not have WI State YMCA time standards or need more. It is also the final winter session meet for swimmers who do not have Y State qualifying times. All swimmers who need Y State times are expected to participate both days. Meet information is posted so you can read it over. Even if you’ve already looked at it, it’s a good idea to read it again before you go to the meet.
B. Wisconsin YMCA State Championship (3/21-23) @ WSAC: This meet is only for swimmers who have achieved a qualifying time (time standard) in an event(s). All qualifiers must participate in their individual events and relays. This is the final meet of the winter session for all swimmers with Y State times, with the exception of YMCA National Meet qualifiers.
- As mentioned, swimmers must achieve a time standard to compete in an event at Wisconsin US Swimming and YMCA State Championship Meets. We have handed out a paper copy of these time standards to all Schroeder South 12 & Under swimmers, and there are extra copies on the bulletin board at Greendale Pool if you would like one. This gives the swimmers something concrete to shoot for at the qualifying meets.
- It’s very exciting when swimmers achieve their first state times whether it be for USA Swimming or YMCA swimming. Time standards are different for each meet, but both are on the same handout. This can make it a little confusing to read, so if you need help, ask a coach before or after practice.
- There is one major difference in the 2 state meets that you need to be aware of. In the USA Swimming State Championship, the swimmer’s age is determined by the age on the first day of the meet. In the YMCA State Championship, the swimmer’s age is determined by their age as of December 1st. In other words, if a 10 year old swimmer turns 11 any time after December 1st, 2013, he/she will still compete in the 9-10 age group at the March YMCA Championship.

6. Signing Up For Meets On Your Swimmer’s Meet Schedule:
- To enter a meet, click on the swim team home page, and scroll down to the list of meets. Click on “Attend/Decline” for the meet (enter password if necessary).
- Then click on Undeclared Athletes, scroll to your swimmer’s name, click on the name, commit (put yes) in the declaration box, and click on the save changes box.
- Once the swimmer is committed, you may choose the swimmer’s events or have the coach choose the events (recommended).
- If your swimmer cannot attend, follow the previous steps and put no in the declaration box. Please use the message box to explain why the swimmer is not participating, and then click on the save changes box.
7. Team Equipment Info:
Team suits: Now that our team is an official Speedo Team we have an official Speedo team suit. We would like all swimmers to wear a team suit when they compete in meets. Swimmers are allowed to wear their present team suits but are asked to buy the official Speedo team suit when they are ready for a new meet suit. Suits are available through Elsmore Swim Shop at the Schroeder Aquatic Center. They can wear any suit they choose in practice.
Coach Ann will have Schroeder swim caps and fins at practice. If you need to buy one, check with her before or after practice.
8. Mail Checks to Matt Miller:
Please mail all checks to Matt Miller rather than give them to coaches at practice. You can mail them to Matt at the following address:
Matt Miller, WSAC, 9240 North Green Bay Road, Brown Deer, WI 53209
