Galatians 5:25‬‬‬‬ NKJV

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Galatians 5:25‬‬‬‬ MSG

25 Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives.

Galatians 5:25‬‬‬‬ AMP

25 If we [claim to] live by the [Holy] Spirit, we must also walk by the Spirit [with personal integrity, godly character, and moral courage—our conduct empowered by the Holy Spirit].

  1. Spiritual Truth Is Discernible Only To A Pure Heart, Not To A Keen Intellect. It Is Not A Question Of Profundity Of Intellect, But Of Purity Of Heart!—Oswald Chambers

  1. The Main Characteristic Which Is The Proof of the Indwelling Spirit Is An Amazing Tenderness In Personal Dealing, and a Blazing Truthfulness With Regard To God’s Word!

  1. The Stewardship of Spirituality Allows YOU To Offer God Every Part Of YOU!

Introduction:

We are studying five different areas in the Stewardship of: Discernment, Giving, Presence, Spirituality and Progeny/Posterity. This morning we are looking at the necessity of exercising and being a disciple in the STEWARDSHIP OF SPIRITUALITY.

Paul wrote Galatians to counter Judaizing false teachers who were undermining the central NT doctrine of justification by faith. Ignoring the express decree of the Jerusalem Council, they spread their dangerous teaching that Gentiles must first become Jewish proselytes and submit to all the Mosaic law before they could become Christians. Shocked by the Galatians’ openness to that damning heresy, Paul wrote this letter to defend justification by faith, and warn these churches of the dire consequences of abandoning that essential doctrine. Galatians is the only epistle Paul wrote that does not contain a commendation for its readers—that obvious omission reflects how urgently he felt about confronting the defection and defending the essential doctrine of justification.

Stewardship is not just about managing our resources; it is a key component of spiritual growth. As we embrace stewardship and seek to honor God with all that we have been entrusted, our faith deepens, and we experience transformation in our lives. By actively engaging in the different areas of stewardship, we become more attuned to the will of God, develop a deeper trust in His provision, and cultivate a heart of gratitude. Stewardship allows us to align our lives with God’s purposes, leading to a life of purpose, joy, and spiritual fulfillment.

SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE:

John‬ 3‬:5‬-6‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

I Corinthians‬ 6‬:19‬-20‬ NKJV‬‬

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Romans‬ 5‬:5‬ NKJV‬‬

5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

John‬ 14‬:26‬ NKJV‬‬

26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

John 6:63 NKJV

63  It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Colossians 1:9-10 NKJV

9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

CONCLUSION: ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Remember, whatever you hold too tightly, you will lose. Whatever you’re clutching for safety has become an idol for you. Regardless of whether it’s wealth, giftedness, relationships, or religious rituals, God is not going to allow you to keep it as your source of confidence—a role that rightly belongs to Him. Rather, He will allow it to fail you so you will see He truly is your sovereign and unfailing Lord. Spiritual Discernment.

God longs for you to release yourself into His control and eternal support. He will take care of all that concerns you in the best way possible, and He will also sustain you in the process (Phil. 4:6-7). Though the Lord will test you in time, it will always be with the purpose of demonstrating His never-ending love. Stewardship defines our practical obedience in the administration of everything under our control, everything entrusted to us. It is the consecration of one’s self and possessions to God’s service.

Stewardship acknowledges in practice that we do not have the right of control over ourselves or our property—God has that control. It means as stewards of God we are managers of that which belongs to God, and we are under His constant authority as we administer His affairs. Faithful stewardship means that we fully acknowledge we are not our own but belong to Christ, the Lord, who gave Himself for us.

The ultimate question, then, is this: Am I the lord of my life, or is Christ the Lord of my life? In essence, stewardship expresses our total obedience to God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as my Spirit man is led and guided through and by the HOLY SPIRIT.

“BE MINDFUL OF THE STEWARDSHIP OF SPIRITUALITY, IT DEFINES YOUR WALK AND IDENTIFIES JESUS IS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR!”

DO YOU KNOW JESUS IN THE PARDON OF YOUR SINS?

THE DOOR OF THE CHURCH IS OPEN.

BENEDICTION:

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

Jude 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion, and power, both now and ever. Amen.
