About Our Kids' Climate (OKC)
The Our Kids’ Climate vision is that all children today and tomorrow inherit a healthy planet and just world, rooted in renewable energy and built through intergenerational solidarity.
Our mission is to catalyze, support, and enable effective strategies to advance bold and diverse climate action through a parent, intergenerational, and family-friendly lens.
OKC has become the leading global coordinator within the fast-growing climate-parent and intergenerational movement. We are an anchor organization, connecting national and grassroots groups and supporting hundreds of leaders from more than 55 countries to develop intergenerational organizing and engagement strategies.
This is an exciting time to join our global team of talented movement-building, communications, and campaigns experts. We are a small, nimble, virtual team structured as a convenor and catalyzer rather than a traditional organization.
Job purpose
We are seeking an innovative and passionate social media and digital specialist to maintain and grow our social media and digital presence. With the support and direction of Our Kids’ Climate’s Communications Lead, you will implement Our Kids’ Climate’s social media and wider digital strategy.
You will ensure that there is a flow of engaging content posted and scheduled across our main social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook). You will monitor and analyze social media performance. You will look for ways to improve our website presence and help set up new digital offerings, for instance, a mailing list. You will be responsible for writing a regular newsletter.
Though your focus will be social media and digital, you may also be required to provide support and ideas for wider communications at Our Kids’ Climate, for example assisting with communications across our programs (microgrants, fellowship, community) and campaigns as needed.
Who are you?
You are an experienced social media and digital specialist, ideally with experience working in the climate and social justice space. You are an excellent communicator, highly collaborative, self-starting, and organized. You are passionate about the power of intergenerational and parent-led climate organizing and committed to helping Our Kids’ Climate thrive and flourish in the social media landscape and wider digital world. You will be happy to be part of a small but growing team and be flexible enough to provide strategic advice and support on other aspects of communications as needed.
Main responsibilities
This role will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Our Kids’ Climate’s social media channels under the direction and guidance of the organization’s Communications Lead. It will also help ensure that other aspects of the organization’s digital presence, such as its website, are optimized, and help set up a new mailing list/newsletter for the organization.

A highly collaborative, nurturing and flexible work environment, where we celebrate diversity and appreciate the multiple roles we play in our lives.
The opportunity to join a start-up organization at a time of rapid growth and potential, with the scope to make a huge difference in advancing bold climate action for today’s children and future generations.
