COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1. Develop a working knowledge of Sound technology, terminology and technique as it applies to theater, dance and opera productions.
2. Students can analyze a script in terms of audio, and produce a sound plot and cue sheets for a given production.
3. Develop an awareness of how Sound is used as a design element in the performing arts, film, television and photography.
COURSE REQUIREMENT C ATAGORIES: (NO MORE THAN 40%)
(M) 1. Lab project. Solder Kit 5% of Grade.
(E) 2. Make Song Shorter 5% of Grade
(P) 3. Digital Editing Project#1 (Ellen) 5% of Grade.
(P) 4. Make one minute Story 5% of Grade.
(M) 5. Midterm Exam 10% of Grade.
(P) 6. Audacity proficiency 5% of Grade.
(E) 7. Moments to be Recorded (2) 5% of Grade.
Each one both realistic and Musical. (2 recordings.)
(M) 8. Commercial Project (30 secs ) 10% of Grade.
(M) 9. Qlab Western Town 5% of Grade.
10. Final Project. TBA
Everyone will do cue sheets/ we'll divide the show

PROJECTS: I expect projects to be done and uploaded to Google Drive on the given due date in class. We listen to projects in class. This is part of the learning process. If you deliver your project to me after class on the due date, it is already one day late. Every day that the project is late is one letter grade off that project. Please be prompt with your assignments. Thank You.
CELL PHONE POLICY
Students may use their cell phones during class time for instructional purposes with the teacher’s permission.
Phones must be silent and out of sight during instructional time.
Cell phones may not be used to assist any student on assignments, quizzes, or tests without teacher approval.
The use of a cell phone is not a right but a privilege. When abused, privileges will be withdrawn.
Guidelines:
Violating the established policy will result in the following:
•First offense
-the phone is taken away until the end of the day.
•Second offense
-the phone will be taken away for a week.
•Third offense
-the phone will be given to teacher at start of class, and be retrieved by student at end of class. No phone use will be allowed for rest of the trimester.
Approved cell phones must ALWAYS be in silent mode while on school campus, unless otherwise allowed by a teacher.
Headphones may be used with teacher permission.
Students may use social media, but may not post pictures, take video, or use
facetime.
Students will be held accountable for any negative postings, pictures, or video.
Students may not use cell phones to “bully” or to post derogatory statements about students, faculty, or staff via text message or Social Media.
A student who has a phone confiscated may not use another student’s cell phone.
