17th. May, 1924.
My dear Mr. Winchester,
I am pleased to hear that you will be able to dine with us on Tuesday, the 20th inst. we shall be alone and can arrange everything necessary for the Exhibition[1] quietly on that evening.
Will you kindly let me have the patterns for the carpet and curtains on Monday, as I would like to give you my decision when you come. And also will you please bring with you the formal letter regarding our business affairs.
It will interest you to hear that I have to paint before leaving for Rome the Queen of Roumania [3200]. She is most attractive and she allows me to include the portrait in the Exhibition. When you come on Tuesday you will see the beginning of the picture.
If you think that Mr. Wallace [sic][2] is free on that evening we should be very glad to see him also,
[Page 2]
and Mrs. de Lazlo [sic][3] would send him an invitation. Kindly telephone.
Believe me,
Yours sincerely,
SMDL
