Clay Safety

In the art room, safety is the most important thing.   It is expected that you maintain this safe environment by being respectful, being responsible, and being in control when using all art materials, clay, clay tools and glaze.

When using clay I will not eat it, throw it, splatter it or engage in any unsafe activity in which clay is used for a purpose other than my artwork.

Upon signing below I promise to take care of the clay tools I use and return them in the condition in which they were given to me.

Upon signing below I promise to clean up after myself daily. This means I will wash my tools, clean my table, clean my floors, and clean up at the sinks.  I realize that clean up is a group effort and I will help others at my table clean up.

I understand that if I do not abide by the safety guidelines there will be severe consequences and Ms. Shepherd has the right to change the severity of the consequence based on the offense. This contract acts as my first warning.

2nd Warning: Call/email home –Fill out Disciplinary Referral- No clay use for the rest of the class period.

3rd Warning: Loss of clay privileges for the quarter and zero on the assignment. You will complete an alternate assignments for remainder of the unit.
