DEERISLE STABLE 5.9 Update “SHAPING”
29/10/2024
Note:
Due to the problems we had last DayZ with 1.26 release,
please be aware that there will be some bugs/glitches left we have to fix.
Please report issues with Screenshots + Coord in Discord.
Setting up a new V5.9 Server:
A) Full wipe and fresh install is recommended.
B) Its crucial to do a fresh initialize of all profiles folders
C) Start with a vanilla setup (without any additional mods).
D) There is a big chance that some mods are incompatible with 1.26 <> 5.9
you will have random crashes without resetting everything.
E) Add your mods step by step
F) If you dont stick to A-E - Dont ask for help
Introduction:
Now that we are slowly approaching the time when all Deerisle locations are finally built and (almost) finished, we can take the opportunity after all these years to tidy up here and there in the sense of the gameplay I have in mind and set the final course.
The old and current loot and tier zone distribution was based - more or less - on the order in which I built the areas back then. The old spawn area was only the spawn area (until today) because it was the first area I built with the tools. At that time I didn't know if I would ever release (this) map, I just wanted to familiarize myself with the editor. As a result, we've achieved a bit of a mess to this day, at least in my eyes, which doesn't correspond to my own idea of gameplay. Of course, the old system also offers advantages, as you can focus the loot more selectively and in more detail on individual areas. However, this level of detail is not required to realize my idea of the map. If you want, you can of course keep the old mission files and continue to use the old tierzones. However, you will have to take care of the maintenance of new types yourself, as I will only update the new setting.
Now that almost all the areas are available, we can finally do a small reset and a fresh start and adjust the gameplay of the map and clean it up a bit.
MAP:
The new in-game map is now even more detailed and especially helpful for new players to find their way around the island. They offer more information than before about the different spots on Deerisle
LOCATION & DIRECTION SIGNS:
There are now also (finally!) location signs and direction signs in the world, which make it easier to find your way around the terrain
NEW LOCATIONS:
Formerly empty and undeveloped areas are now occasionally home to new explorable locations.
DIVING:
While diving used to be part of the questline and “mandatory”, it is now an optional adventure to get high-quality loot.
BOATS:
With the new vanilla boats, we have finally got one of the last missing pieces of the puzzle for Deerisle. The main spot will be the boat rental point between Portland and Bayville. This is where you have the best chance of finding a boat for your adventure. But also around the coasts of Deerisle in the west and east there is the possibility, albeit in a smaller chance, to bring a lost boat into his possession. (Detail: There are a total of 80 boat spawn points. 20 each are randomly located in the east and west - between islands and in coastal areas - while the remaining 40 are located near the boat rental point…which leads to a mathematical 50% chance to get a boat at the rental).
A lot of water passages have been reworked (and some added) to make them usable for vanilla boats.
NEW LOOT DISTRIBUTION:
The tierzones (from the previous 19) will be reduced to 9 and adapted to the new player progression (from the south to the north, starting in the Stonington area).
PLAYERSPAWNS:
For this reason, all starting points will initially move to the area around Stonington. The aim here is to achieve better player progression from the south to the north. The old setting showed that many players rarely or never went to Stonington from the starting area, for example, and the area was often unused in terms of gameplay.
NEW OILRIG:
As the underground oil deposit in the Archipelago has proven to be very productive, STAG Industries has put a new 4th oil rig into operation in the area.
