Reading text is one thing, understanding it fully is another.
We need to work on understanding what we read by answering higher-order questions. Blooms Taxonomy show the different levels of understanding text through questioning:

Kelly’s comment: The more you talk about what you read the better understanding you will have. You have had a bit of trouble writing answers to stories but with more practice you will get there.
