  • Key vocabulary
  • Figurative language: similes vs. metaphors

Social Studies:

Dig deeper into the three regions of North Carolina. Explore cities and characteristics that make each region unique.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL):

Continued our second step curriculum on empathy and respect.

Continue exploring digital citizenship: private and personal information.

Math:  Work on multi-step word problems involving addition and subtraction. Review. Take Module 1 Final Assessment!

Gather and record evidence of what a literal great heart is and use the evidence organizer to write a well developed informative paragraph.

Work as a whole group, small groups, and in pairs to make sure the paragraph contains:

  • An introduction that provides context
  • A focus statement
  • Two supporting points and evidence from the text
  • Elaboration on how the evidence relates to each point
  • A conclusion
  • Specific vocabulary
  • Correct capitalization and punctuation

Social Studies:

Continue our exploration of North Carolina by learning about changes that North Carolina’s native people have faced. Take our final assessment.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL):

Continued our second step curriculum on empathy and respect.

Continue exploring digital citizenship: our online tracks.

We enjoyed our first Imagination day!! Your kingfishers loved celebrating all their hard work and growth so far in fourth grade. Shout out to our fourth grade leaders in this quarter’s focus:

 “D - Do Everything Safely.”
