Derwentwater Hotel,
Keswick.
18th Sept 1916
Dear Mr de Laszlo –
When you finished my portrait [5657] in the Autumn of 1914 you told me I ought to have it revarnished at the end of two years and my recollection is you said you would kindly do it yourself.
What would you like me to
[Page 2]
do about it. I shall be going away on circuit for about three weeks from the 13th October and if it could be sent for and varnished during this period I should be greatly obliged as my Wife[1] is so fond of the picture she does not like it to be away when we are at home
[Page 3]
I hope that Mrs de Laszlo[2] and your children have had a charming holiday. I know you would want it as I have heard how busy you have been.
I saw a beautiful portrait by you of Mrs. George Sandys [11222] at Greythwaite the other day.
[Page 4]
Would you kindly answer this to the above address as we are staying in this beautiful place for another ten days
Yours sincerely
T Gardner Horridge
