My Opinions
"Opinions are like noses: everyone has one and they are all different"
It is my focused belief that everything not stated in the holy scripture of God in the manner that it is stated in the holy scripture of God, is by definition, an opinion. All the books, white papers, sermons, study guides, footnotes, encyclopedias, dictionaries, videos, audio recordings and other forms of "talk" about scripture are only opinions. They may be seriously deficient or remarkably cogent and convincing, but they are opinions none the less.
This page is devoted to some of my opinions.
This page is not for the timid. Please read the articles below carefully:
- This page contains my opinions on random things that are of interest and concern to me.
- They are here because I think that enough effort and time has been put into them so that they may be of interest to others.
- As my opinions, they do not reflect those of any other person including, but not limited to my wife, my children, the fellowship of Christ of which I am a part, my parents, my work associates, any cult, civic organization, club or local chapter of anything whatsoever.
- If you are squeamish about listening thoughtfully to another's opinions, or if you don't think that people should put their opinions in words, then I strongly suggest you close this page and read no further.
- Please be willing to think carefully and hard about your life and the grand questions that plague us without passing judgment on another who has arrived at a different place.
- You are free to take issue with anything said here. The only thing I ask is that you remain open to understanding that my opinions are valid for me, even if they are not valid for you.
- All these opinions are works in progress: I reserve the right to change them at anytime based on further thinking or a well constructed critique on any point. Please do not assume that what is said here today may not be different tomorrow. I do make an effort to change my opinion based on learning something new.
- Many of these opinions are in response to other opinions that have been "published" with which I am not in full accord. (I consider a publically spoken word to a group of people an idea that has been "published") Feel free to publish your own opinion on any of these matters, but please keep this in mind: I work hard to not impugn the motives of another person’s opinions and all I ask is that you not impugn mine. Please state what you do think, not what I should not think. To this end, please make every effort to build up the base of well thought out opinions, and not tear down the efforts of others.
