When can I apply?

8/19/2020 to January 2021

(until all funds are used)

How do I apply?

Online, and you can call this phone number for help applying: (512) 488-1397

How much aid will be distributed?

1 to 3 months full rent payment (3 months if you make under 30% Median Fam. Income)

When will I know if I was selected?

  • Monthly selections
  • You will receive an email
  • Your landlord will also get an email requesting information
  • Applicants who were not selected will not receive an email because you might get selected in the next round

When will I receive the funds?

After you and your landlord submit all information and qualify, your landlord will receive the rent payment shortly after

How will aid be distributed?

Rent payment will be made directly to your landlord

What are the eligibility requirements?

  • Live within Austin’s full purpose jurisdiction
  • Make under 80% the Median Family Income (MFI)
  • Currently on a lease or contractually bound rental relationship
  • Not already a recipient of federal rental assistance programs
  • Have documentation showing that you have experienced a COVID-19-related income loss (e.g. paystubs, unemployment notice, etc.).

Median Family Income (MFI)

As applicants are randomly selected for eligibility review, if an applicant’s current income is below the 30% Median Family Income level, the applicant’s file will be marked as being potentially eligible for up to three (3) RENT assistance payments. To be eligible for the second and third payment, the applicant must submit certification forms of continued need.

 

Applicants with income that falls between 30-80% of the Median Family Income level will only be eligible for one month of RENT assistance payments
