ROAD RULES for Washington DC 
When you travel as a group, you’re traveling as a team. You:
*Affect the entire group with your actions
*Represent TMS, your community, & family at all times.
*Never conduct yourself in any way detrimental or negative to your school or community.
So please, be considerate and follow these expectations:
- Be punctual and polite. Listen attentively to your tour guide
- All scheduled activities are obligatory.
- Visitors or group members from other groups/room are not allowed in your hotel room.
Once we return to the hotel, you are in the room to sleep. You’re in there till breakfast. You are to sleep and rest. We have security in the halls.
- You must be considerate and respectful of the rights of other hotel guests. Unnecessary and loud noises, slamming doors, running in the hallways, loud music, etc, are not allowed.
All tour participants are financially responsible for any damage to their rooms
- Do not go anywhere without telling your chaperone.
- Laser pointers will be taken away and will not be returned!
- Call home each day. Let your parents know you are OK and what you are learning.
- Actively engaging in this learning experience by paying attention to the tour guide and following his/her directions. Be respectful of him/her- that means headphones OUT, not just off.
- Some places require special listening & decorum ( Holocaust Museum, Vietnam Memorial).
- If you have concerns with fellow student’s behavior, bring it to the attention of a chaperone).
- Cell phones are a privilege, so use them wisely. Don’t lose that privilege .
- Always be aware of your surroundings. Keep yourself safe. Never leave backpacks unattended.
- Conduct business with establishments that have a fixed address( avoid guys on the street)
- Pay attention while you walk, and be respectful.
- Be respectful ( I say it again. It can’t be said enough. The cell phone thing)
- Wear comfy shoes! Don’t rip a toe or toenail off….
- NEVER GO OFF ALONE!! Always be with at least one other from your group!
If we feel we need to contact either a parent or the school, be sure the other will be contacted as well.
