After the massive earthquake in 2010 Purple Cake Day was started by Emily Sanson-Rejouis to raise money for the kids’ education in Haiti. When the earthquake started Emily’s husband and her two kids died. Emily and her little daughter that was about one years old survived but she had a broken leg. Purple Cake Day was to help kids all around the world so they could go to school.On Friday Class 13 celebrated Purple Cake Day because we were learning so much about Haiti Miss Nalder and Class 13 decided to have Purple Cake Day in our class!.It was really Amazing we had Purple face painting from Ajani’s parents and Miss Nalder made some purple jelly and Ajani’s parents brought in purple cupcakes and Manuwai’s mum brought in some Chocolate Balls.Noah’s Mum Nyree’s Mum and Kerstein’s Mum came in to help.We had lots of activities.We made little faces on our fingers and made purple bracelets with lots and lots of glitter.Noah brought in some purple bracelets and some purple feathers for us to wear.When we got our faces painted we had all different faces.I had to two black scars on my face and everyone else had other things on their faces.Lots of people were taking photos of everyone and sended it to Miss Nalder.Miss Nalder sent the photos to us on our Emails they were really cool pictures.Teija brought in some Hair Chalk and she made nearly everyones hair in the classroom purple and some other colours.
