Falcon Controllers V4 and Expansion Boards
The Falcon controllers V4 and expansion/receiver board system gives the end user a great deal of flexibility when designing their show. This document outlines the various configurations that are possible to help you make the best decision when buying controllers, expansion boards and receivers.
The following are the fundamental products that make up the Falcon controller system.
F16V4 Pixel Controller - 16 port controller capable of 1024 pixels per port. E131, Artnet and DDP supported.
F48V4 Pixel Controller - 48 port controller capable of 1024 pixels per port (32 port mode) or 704 pixels per port (48 port mode). 192 universes of E131, Artnet and DDP supported. The F48V4 connects to up to 12 chains of SmartReceivers. Each chain may have up to 6 receivers.
F16V4 Differential Expansion - Connects to F16V4 via 24-pin ribbon cable with ability to drive four differential receiver chains. The receivers can be located up to 250 ft (76m) from the expansion board. The expansion boards have a 24-pin IDC connector.
SmartReceiver v2.00 - Connects to either F16V4 directly via “Receiver Ports”, F48V4 or F16V4 Differential Expansion Board. The total physical length of the SmartReceiver v2.00 chain can be up to 250 ft from the controller board. Up to six boards can be connected together in a chain.
F16V4 Expansion Board - Connects to F16V4 to expand the controller by 16 local ports. Two boards can be connected to the controller. The expansion boards have a 24-pin IDC connector.
