Performance target:  Explain the difference between mass, volume, and length

Tools: ruler, meter stick,  triple-beam balance, 25 ml graduated cylinder, eyedropper, water, marbles, test-tubes, test tube holder, colored water, masking tape, pennies

Directions:

  1. Print lab worksheets [links under evidence]
  2. Follow instructions for EACH lab procedure
  1. length
  2. mass
  3. volume
  1. Take photos of the following
  1. Length lab:
  1. meter stick showing the length of your shoe
  2. 10 penny stack with ruler clearly indicating number of cm in height
  1. Mass lab
  1. All items you collected that represent YOUR guess for the given grams..label each item with its hypothesized mass
  1. EX: You selected a piece of paper = 1 gram;  penny = 5 grams; a marble =10 grams etc.,.,
  1. Volume
  1. Color challenge results...after you have followed all the directions take a picture of test tubes in the holder. Suggest you put a blank white piece of paper behind.
  1. Send your photos to your PERSONAL drive via email
  1. Open each email and save images to your drive
  1. Put images into a Google Draw doc
  1. Add headers and information
  1. what did you have to do
  2. what is significant about this image
