Rides in 2018
- Club Ride - 2018-0513 - Pie in the Sky - At last a ride leaving from the north side, right!? We will be going from the Denny's at the NW corner of Research Forest Drive and I-45 to the Pie in the Sky restaurant in Conroe. Best pie ever! The rest of the menu is great too. There is an optional ride back to Brookshire.
- Club Ride - 2018-0510 - Heading South to Bay City
- Club Ride - 2018-0422 - Brisk Ride to Bastrop.
- Club Ride - 2018-0414 - Ride to Club Meeting Redux
- Club Ride - 2018-0406 - Hill Country Hangout - The San Antonio BMW Club is again hosting a rally near Kerrville, and the Houston BMW Club will organize a Friday-Sunday group ride to attend. Some of us did this one last year, and it was great fun. We will leave Friday morning from Katy and return Sunday afternoon. On Saturday you can follow a guided ride to the Three Sisters area with our Club, ride suggested routes by the San Antonio BMW Cub, or just hang out. The rally is at Kerrville-Schreiner Park near Kerrville.
- Club Ride - 2018-0331 - Wildflowers 2018 - . The lunch stop is at Nathan's BBQ in Brenham. Trip distance is 113 miles outbound, and 49 miles on the return, if you ride the club route coming back.
- Club Ride -- Use It or Lose It Redux - Saturday, January 27, 2018 - This is a reprise of the ride that we tested out on Friday, Dec. 29. Hopefully no unpaved surprises left. Lunch is at 1st Class BBQ in Hempstead. It's new, and there is still a little confusion online about the location. We confirmed that it's on the west side of Hwy 6, just south of 290. The GPX file is available for download here: https://goo.gl/DgGPxc.
- Club Ride -- New Year's Lunch at Miller's Seawall Grill in Galveston - Let's get 2018 off to a good start on New Year's Day with a ride to Galveston for lunch at Miller's Seawall Grill at 1824 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, TX 77550. The meeting point is the Buc-ee's at 1243 Crabb River Rd, Richmond, TX 77469. Please arrive no later than 8:45 AM, so we can leave promptly at 9:00 AM. The GPX file is available for download from here: https://goo.gl/k8zJz5.
Rides in 2017
- Club Ride -- Use It or Lose It! - December 29, 2017 - For those of you who are using up vacation this last week of the year before you lose it, why not spend Friday on a ride? The outgoing route is nominally 120 miles, but I purposely included some back roads that I haven't been on before, so there are three detours in the GPX file, in case we run into some unexpected unpaved roads. Lunch is at 1st Class BBQ in Hempstead. Lots of five-star reviews on Yelp, but there is a little confusion online about where it is, exactly. I took my best shot. The GPX file is available for download here: https://goo.gl/4Zewjr.
