Driving in a group

Tour 200 is cycled in speed groups led by captains . The average speeds of the groups are approximately 27, 30, 33 and 36 + km/h. The groups ride in pairs on the right side of the roadway and occasionally on bike paths, but always following the traffic rules. The traction shift is changed as a counter-clockwise rotating chain. Each driving group has at least one driving captain and vice-captain. Each rider undertakes to follow their regulations and instructions. Stopping always takes place on the right side of the roadway. Littering is strictly prohibited.

The route is not closed to other traffic, and driving takes place in compliance with both traffic rules and traffic controllers' instructions.

The captain has the right to remove a cyclist who endangers the safety of others due to driving behavior or fatigue from the group and suspends his driving.

After a flat tire or other technical fault, the driver must announce "technical" with an audible voice and move safely to the right side of the road. The service car coming behind will assist if necessary. After the repair, the bike and the rider move to the front of their own group in the service car, and the rider continues the journey with his own group.

The service cars also have a small first aid kit.

If the cyclist DNFs, he gets on the service car and continues the journey to the next fixed service point. From there, a ride to the event center will be arranged.

All participants must have a participant number, which is attached to the front of the bike with the help of zip ties. You can get the zipp ties when the numbers are distributed (inside the letter). A visible number helps organizers organize a safe event.

Fatigue

If the driver is unable to ride with the pace group, he can switch to another pace group during the ride. The best way to prevent fatigue is to remember to refuel with carbohydrates during the ride, i.e. to take advantage of the servings at the rest stops.

Service points

The participants have a comprehensive food and drink supply on the route.

NOTE! No sports drink will be distributed at the start

Tour 200 (approx.  200 km)

Road safety

Since Turku Touring Pyöräily is a fitness event, general traffic rules are followed. The organizers have the right to remove participants from the event if they violate traffic rules. Participants must always use the bike path when there is one on the right side of the road in the direction of travel, unless otherwise instructed by traffic control arrangements. Driving on the driveway is therefore permitted under the guidance of a traffic controller.

When there is no traffic controller, traffic rules and signs are followed.

●        The use of a helmet is mandatory for those participating in the event.

●        Participants must follow traffic rules and marked routes.

●        Those who participate in the Turku Touring Pyöräily event are at their own risk and are responsible for their own accident and equipment insurance.
