Universal Human Experience: The Final Exploration
Essential Question:
Is ____ a Universal Human Experience? If so, what is its significance to humans? If not, why isn’t it a necessary experience to be human?
Objectives:
- review works from entire year
- craft an overarching statement about significance of a Universal Human Experience
- support UHE statement with specific instances in year’s texts
- conduct outside research to support UHE statement
- synthesize argument into narrative form – beginning, middle, end
Assessments:
- plot / synthesis chart of works read Sophomore Year
- focused revision of UHE Claim
- general AND specific support from each work (context and quotations)
- specific support from real-world examples (demonstrates research ability)
- final argument in visual narrative form (beginning, middle, end that can be handed out) – can be powerpoint, Explain Everything, video, outline
- EdCafe presentation
- Overall Metacognitive (with attached rubrics)
Grading:
- 100pts for process (10 artifacts of process)
- 100pts for final visual narrative of UHE Claim
- 100pts for EdCafe (peer evaluations taken into consideration)
- 100pts for Overall Metacognitive
