Foundations of Health Science Syllabus
About Me
I am a Winston-Salem native, having been born and raised here in Winston-Salem. I attended Wake Forest University for Biology and then University of Florida for a Masters of Science in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. I have worked in research laboratories, medical offices, and did clinical research in Nephrology prior to teaching at the Community College level for the last 20 years. I have been teaching health sciences students as well as students who are pursuing general science degrees. There are many careers within science and health science that I love to tell others about, since there are many that most folks are unaware exist. This is my first year teaching at Atkins
I have 2 children, one just graduated from Parkland and the other is a student at Atkins. We love animals and have 3 dogs and 3 cats, although we have allergies (runny noses abound!). I like to knit, crochet, garden, and enjoy music, sometimes playing in the community band, when time allows, or attending concerts. I also enjoy traveling, especially to historical sites, and learning new things. And, I follow University of Florida sports and WAKE FOREST sports! GO DEACS and GO GATORS!!!!
