I worked at the NBN Group for almost two years and below are some of my accomplishments

Accomplished Goals

WEBSITE

When I arrived, NBN was utilizing a traditional php website that was based on an older WEB 1.0 format. There were limited video, images, with usability and navigation challenges.  The website was not user friendly and it was dated. The websites did not have SEO elements, analytics, visual elements, video or mobile functionality.  

Branding: One of the first big projects that I started was meeting with everyone that would be involved in the rebranding project. We needed to to create a new brand for The NBN Group and all division, starting with new logos and brand identity. I was part of the team that outsourced the new logo design and creation. The new logo creation was the beginning of the branding process and started the movement toward creation of the new websites.  

Traditional: I was able to create new websites for four of our divisions and I completed new templates for the other divisions including creation of a careers page, Intranet and a revamp of the old blog layout.  I  went with a Wordpress format because Wordpress is very Google Friendly, it is very user friendly and is driven on an entire database or content management system.

COMPLETED MOBILE WEBSITE

When I started this journey the company and its divisions did not have mobile capabilities. I knew that it would be important for the company to have a mobile presence. So I developed a mobile website for NBN Group using a custom Wordpress layout utilizing the powerful Wordpress CMS.

After the creation of the mobile websites, analytics displayed an increase in mobile traffic.  

iFRAME

An iframe page is a fully functioning web page that has been inserted into another webpage or platform. One of my goals when I started on my Digital Marketing Journey a few years ago, was to find a way to insert a fully functioning web page into Facebook. I was able to do this by way of iFrame page. I created a page when I started and inserted that into Facebook and continued to tweak the look of the page to match the branding changes that were made.

I utilized one wordpress based website for all of the brands Facebook pages. There were several pages and each page represent different divisions.

ANALYTICS

I had Google Analytics set up on every page that I rebranded. Analytics are the backbone to any Digital Marketing effort because it allows a company to use data to determine the effectiveness of any campaign. A new website is irrelevant unless I can monitor the effectiveness of the page by analyzing the data.

SEO

This was an ongoing process because traditional SEO has changed so much in the past few years and social media has played a much larger role in SEO than ever before with changes to the Google algorithm and the introduction of Google+. So I used a combination of older SEO strategies like web usability and keywords with newer methods like social media optimization as a part of my evolving SEO Strategy for optimum Google placement.

BLOG

I created a NEW careers blog and maintained the content of the established blog. BOTH of which were rebranded and created with a custom wordpress layout. I  also added analytics to the blog, this allowed the company to have data about the increase in traffic on IVIG content. That has resulted in the creation of more content for IVIG which pushed the company  to the 1st page of Google.

SOCIAL MEDIA

My goal with the company social media usage had been to utilize it for all of the divisions. So I used it for careers, events, reputation management, branding and more.  

 

LOCAL SEARCH

One of the concerns about social media can be whether companies can effectively target local customers. This can be done by utilizing a combination of SEO with local keywords for blog/web and utilizing local social media channels. Below are the strategies that were used:

DIRECT RESPONSE MARKETING

This is huge because it allowed me to tie offline and online marketing, created an immediate prompt to perform an action and it was measurable. These are some of the most important things about marketing in general.

QR CODE PROJECTS

I started my interest in QR Codes over 3 years ago, back then people really didn’t get it. Now we’ve come along a bit but still have a long way to go. The key to effective QR code use is to prompt a call to action and tie that call to action to a mobile device. Without both the QR code campaign is destined to fail.

TRADITIONAL MARKETING

There was a lot of collaboration between traditional marketing and digital marketing, this collaboration allowed me to effectively tie all marketing together cohesively. Tying them together allowed me to attach analytics and measurement tools so that I was aware of how effective the company's marketing efforts were. Some of the following that have tied traditional and digital marketing:

PRODUCT MARKETING

I had a strong product marketing background which I used to create a NEW wholesale product marketing division within NBN Group. This gave me the opportunity to source any promotional product for branding, trade shows and giveaways at wholesale cost. This allowed me to save the company 40% -60% on all products.  Setting up this division allowed me to take the marketing efforts to another level, while saving the company a vast amount of money.  This was instrumental in launching the new NBN Medical retail division.

EMAIL MARKETING:

I revamped and created content for the Autism related email marketing newsletter and the company newsletter, using Constant Contact. I additionally created and designed a NEW Email newsletter geared toward healthy eating and general wellness.

The key to effective email marketing is building an email list. So I added an avenue for website visitors to sign up for our newsletter on our website.

AUGMENTED REALITY & MOBILE WEBSITE PROJECT

Augmented Reality allows technology to bridge the gap between print and digital by way of mobile scanning using an augmented reality app.  

Nightsons Project

This B2B project was for a music producer, it was created as a creative way to release a new album for his clients.  The album cover was created with the goal to increase engagement by using a call to action geared to maximizing downloads of the new album from iTunes.  I used augmented reality to create this call to action.

When the album cover below is scanned with an augmented reality app, [called Layar ] the 1st released song of the album automatically plays.

 

A mobile website was also created on the Wordpress platform to compliment the release of this album.

ECOMMERCE/MOBILE TEMPLATE PROJECT

A huge percentage of websites are now built on the Wordpress platform, so I created the Wordpress mobile web template project. This Paypal driven eCommerce website  allows the purchase of Wordpress mobile templates for businesses that would like a mobile presence using the very powerful Wordpress format. In addition to creating the mobile templates for purchase, I created the ecommerce wordpress template that the website is utilizing.

NONPROFIT PROJECT

August of 2013 I founded a non-profit project geared toward providing resources for students and parents of students that have encountered challenges in applying for college. The Urban Freshman project creates a one stop online resource to easily apply to colleges,  applying for college grants, loans, internships and more. I am in the process of applying the required 1023, for 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt status with the IRS.

I created the Wordpress traditional website and mobile web template that are being used for the Urban Freshman online presence. I am additionally handling the digital marketing for Urban Freshman as well.

I have a variety of marketing experience, content marketing, digital, pharmaceutical & healthcare, direct response, and promotional. I am also a Social Media & Marketing college Professor, Course Developer, Digital Web Webinar Developer and Digital Marketing Webinar instructor.  

I additionally have a Masters of Science Degree in Internet Marketing where I graduated from one of the most cutting edge universities in this country. I graduated with a 3.71 GPA after completing the very aggressive one year Master's degree program.
