These are all things that I did to increase my framerate from less than 30fps during the boss and ~8fps during the roots mechanics to ~45/25fps while using Elvui, which was incredibly noticeable and beneficial. Everyone’s setups and computers are different, especially with preferences for certain Elvui settings, but in general the philosophy should be as minimal UI as possible to help with lag. You won’t really be switching targets at all during the fight since all the adds die instantly, so anything you can do to disable all nameplates will be huge. – Aapaa-Dalaran <Ultra Instinct>
- Follow these instructions from Tukui exactly, including the Elvui settings adjustments. I didn’t do the bonus recommendation of doing a clean reinstall of the game.
- The graphics optimizations in here suggest turning Render Scale below 100%, but as of 10.2 this has been bugged for many different setups and may cause you to lose massive fps. I would suggest messing around with it in Valdrakken and if it causes FPS loss just keep it at 100%. (credit u/raany891)
- Additional Elvui stuff (largely preference, just trim all the fat):
- Hide any action bar you won’t be looking at during combat.
- Go to General>General and set Tag Update Rate to 0.5 and Smoothing Amount to 25%
- Go to Buffs and Debuffs, and Disable (unless for some reason you look at all your buffs and debuffs at the top right during combat)
- Go to UnitFrames>Individual Units>Target>Disable literally everything
- Go to UnitFrames>Individual Units>Player>Disable literally everything except Debuffs and Heal Prediction
- Go to UnitFrames>Group Units>Raid 1>Disable literally everything except for Private Auras, Aura Indicator, and the last few indicators and icons at the very bottom.
- Go to UnitFrames>Group Units>Boss>Disable
- Fight-specific Weakauras (ranged/healers/tanks may need more):
- Special bars: Supernova shield/cast
- Circles: Mass Entanglement
- Texts: Seeds of Flame Remaining (I increased the size on this by a ton)
- Miscellaneous: Flare Bomb soak sound
- Disabled everything except Bigwigs, Elvui, GTFO, MRT, OPie, Weakauras
- This means either disabling Details entirely, or changing Refresh Rate to 3 seconds
- Obviously disabling Elvui would be a huge help too
- Make sure combat logging is disabled in MRT
- If you have the Raider IO app, there’s a setting checked on by default called Enable Live Tracking. Turn that shit off
- Restarted my PC before raid
- Closed every application besides Wow, OBS, Discord and Firefox w/ a single tab, including things in the system tray like WowUp
