SUBJECT: May 1st - Solarize Plano Project Communications Update
What a GREAT SOLAR day we had today!
This project status email is being sent to 2014 Solarize Plano Project participants that have enrolled, interested volunteers, the selected solar installation company, and related city & utility staff contacts . This communications update includes:
1. Enrollment, Site Assessment, and Contract Status
2. Next Steps Reminder - Decision Point 2 questionnaire - complete by May 7th!
3. Discount Pricing
4. Project Questions
1. Enrollment, Site Assessment, and Contract Status (as of April 28)
2. Next Steps Reminder - Decision Point 2 (DP2) Questionnaire - complete by May 7th!
If you haven't already, enrolled participants that have:
should consider responding to Decision Point 2 with a “YES” or “Maybe” by completing the 2014 Decision Point 2 Form Questionnaire. This should be done no later than May 7, 2014. The EARLIER, THE BETTER!
As Decision Point 2 participants complete the questionnaire, the information will then be forwarded to the selected company Axium Solar. Using the contact information provided in the questionnaire, Axium Solar will begin preliminary site assessments with online tools and also reach out to contact DP2 participants over the coming days to schedule a site assessment visit.
In addition to the specific size system to be installed at your location, Axium Solar has provided a number of different options with slightly varying prices. They will review these configuration options and the corresponding Solarize Plano prices with you to help you decide the best for your specific needs.
Plano Solar Advocates is available to assist you in moving forward to Decision Point 3 which is signing a contract by May 15, 2014 with Axium Solar to install solar on your home.
3. Discounted Pricing
In this year’s RFP responses, many of the bidding companies provided “flat” pricing discounts. This means that these companies provided their best discount to Solarize Plano Project participants regardless of the total installed solar capacity (kW). For the participants planning to have solar installed, this helps remove some of the uncertainty on the final pricing which had been based on the pricing tiers. We wanted to let enrollees know that the company that was selected by the RFP Review Team was one of these companies that offered “flat” pricing discounts.
6. Project Questions
If you have any questions, please reach out to us by email so that we can setup a call or meeting to address them.
Thanks again for your interest in the Solarize Plano Project and tapping the local solar energy that we have here in Plano!
Larry Howe (firstname.lastname@example.org) , Bob Litwins (email@example.com), and all the volunteers with Plano Solar Advocates, a 100% grassroots volunteer group
