The MegaWorld documentation shows the old GUI and old features in some places. Documentation will be updated soon

MEGA WORLD

OVERVIEW

Mega World

Mega World is an ecosystem of tools for lightning fast creation of beautiful and realistic results and hyper-optimized object rendering. Mega World has both tools for full as well as partial procedural generation, as well as for quick and easy manual level design.

Each game needs a tool for procedural generation, first of all, such a tool can greatly accelerate the process of creating scenes, and most importantly, it allows you to better create your scenes

Mega World not only creates a realistic looking forest, but also simplifies the workflow, you can copy and paste settings, you can save settings profiles in the project, and at any time you can add them to the tool.

Mega World offers an intuitive, simple, but at the same time comprehensive solution for creating scenes in minutes.

Instant Renderer

Having a Instant Renderer in this package gives Mega World a big advantage over other procedural placement tools. Mega World has enough features and more to make your forest look very realistic, and the Quadro Renderer makes your forest even more realistic.

Instant Renderer is an alternative to the Unity Terrain Tree. For the first time, you should stop using the Unity Terrain Tree if you want a convenient workflow in Edit Mode, good FPS, and more realistic creation, and you can't do that with a Unity Terrain Tree. Try using Instant Renderer with GPU Instanced Indirect in edit mode, render a dense forest for 8 km and you will have a completely new positive experience of working in Edit Mode.

Why does Mega World deserve your attention?

This is quite possibly the most advanced manual level design package and contains a large set of powerful manual level design tools.

Most of the users who have used my implementation of the Brush Paint Tool said this is the best implementation, you are 100% no exception.

Quadro Renderer is the only hyper-optimized rendering alternative to the Unity Terrain Tree. It will also give you hyper-optimized in Edit Mode using GPU Instanced Indirect with Compute Shaders. Also, it can work fine if you use other procedural placement tools it can convert GameObject or Unity Terrain Tree to Quadro Renderer.

If you don't want to spend a lot of time learning complex tools like Terrain Composer 2 and Map Magic 2, but want to get realistic results almost immediately, Mega World is the best option. Mega World contains templates, this will allow you to get a realistic result in one click without configuring MegaWorld, you can also use copy and paste settings, in the Stamper Tool you can enable Auto Spawn and conveniently configure your preset settings.

Mega World went through long daily user support, after receiving a huge amount of feedback, it was polished as much as possible to make the user as comfortable as possible using Mega World.

Guarantee

Instant User Support - I'm online 7 days a week, especially good support via Discord.

Mega World Stability - major updates go through the testing phase, for example, the update with Quadro Renderer was tested 3 months before going to the Asset Store.

Instant Bugfix - I'll send you a link to GitHub where you can download the fix before going to the Asset Store.

Big Plans for Mega World - the set of tools that we have now, this is just the beginning.

TOOLS

Terrain Spawner

Texture Stamper

GET STARTED

MegaWorld is a multi-tool ecosystem. First we will try to create a realistic forest using the Stamper Tool. You can immediately follow this link: Get Started (Stamper Tool)

There are other tools as well, you can open them via Window > MegaWorld > Main.

MEGA WORLD WINDOW

To open the Mega World Window, go to Window > MegaWorld > Main.

MegaWorld Window can be divided into multiple windows, Tools and Selection. Watch this video to learn more about it: Modular Window

The interface is divided into three main sections:

  • Tools Panel (green) - allows you to select a tool.
  • Selected Panel (yellow) - allows you to select objects to be spawned.
  • Settings Panel (red) - allows you to customize the settings of the selected tool.

TOOLS PANEL

This panel allows you to select the tool that you will use.

You can delete unnecessary tools by right-clicking on the tool, the selection "Delete" will appear.

Also add them.

Move the tools to the location that suits you

SELECTION PANEL

This panel is designed to select objects that will be used to create objects, or if you have selected the prototype Unity Terrain Texture, you will texture.

What sections are available:

  • Type - is Scriptable Objects, which is stored in the project folder, it is designed to conveniently create types of objects, such as pines, spruces, large and small trees, etc..
  • Prototype - allows you to select the prototype that will spawn on the scene. This section is divided into Resources Type: GameObject, Quadro Item, Terrain Detail, Terrain Texture.

When you create a type, it appears in this folder.

You can drag Types to the Types Selection

In each Select Type and Select Prototype, you can change the spawn order of objects by simply clicking on the icon and moving left or right. When you drag, a white stripe will appear:

You can click the right mouse button to display a context menu that allows you to delete the selected icons. You can also copy and paste settings, this is a very convenient feature that will facilitate the work with the tool

You can also deactivate the prototype. Deactivated prototype will not spawn

SETTINGS PANEL

Each tool has its own settings. Often some settings may be the same between different tools. Also, each tool can be divided into several parts, for example: the Brush Tool is divided into Paint and Erase.

It is important to know that for each Resource Type (GameObject, Quadro Item, Terrain Detail, Terrain Texture) there may be different settings in the same tool. See an example of the Brush Tool:

Quadro Item:

Terrain Detail:

Terrain Texture:

HOTKEYS

Ctrl + Backspace - allows you to remove all spawned data from the selected prototypes.

INTEGRATION

POLARIS

Go through this tutorial Get Started (Stamper Tool), but only with Polaris Terrain. The only thing to make it work is to set the Filter Type to Simple Filter

It is likely that Mask Filter support for Polaris will be added soon.
