ABQ Hosting Action Center Job Description
TITLE: Action Center Trainer
DESCRIPTION: Train & motivate volunteers. Continually evaluate center operations to make contacts meaningful for volunteers & organizations. Coordinate "So You Want To Volunteer?" presentations. May perform duties of a supervisor depending on personnel availability and program status and to develop job skills of people working at the center.
OBJECTIVE: To make it easy for volunteers to link their passion with a meaningful volunteer opportunity. Help staff develop job skills.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Working knowledge of computer spreadsheets and databases. Able to connect and use a laptop computer and projector. Very knowledgeable of duties in the Data Development Specialist and Administrative Assistant job descriptions. Extensive knowledge of the CLABQ database.
SKILLS: Able to present information in a classroom/meeting environment that is useful and interesting for people trying to find a volunteer opportunity in Albuquerque. Attention to detail. Able to instruct others in the use of the CLABQ database.
EDUCATION: None required.
TIME COMMITMENT: As many hours per week as desired (Monday through Saturday). This may vary.
SUPERVISED BY: Action Center Director, Resource Coordinator or Supervisor (Depending on personnel availability).
WORKING WITH: People interested in volunteering and CLABQ Staff at the Action Center.
WORK LOCATION: UNM Action Center @2210 Silver SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
AGE REQUIREMENTS: At least 18 years old.
BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED: No.
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Travel to presentation locations may be necessary. Signing of a Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest form is required. A sex offender registry check will be conducted. If a person is on the registry they will not be allowed to work in the Action Center because children and vulnerable individuals are present at times.
