Enduring Understanding:

I can deepen my understanding of the content for the math HL course by connecting with students, teachers and professionals through websites, video chats, forums and social media sites.

Essential Questions:

How do I learn?

Goal: To experience a personalised learning journey while preparing for the IB Math HL Exams

Role: Students will actively engage with students at our school and others via social media or online forums/discussions boards. Students will create explanation videos and peer teach

Audience: Other senior Maths HL students/teachers

Situation: Students need to start preparing for the exam while we are still completing our options unit for the IB course. I want to help/teach student how to engage in their own personalised learning journey by making strong connections with other students online. I will create an in class lesson each fortnight to bring the learning together.

Product: Students will have a greater understanding of Blended Learning and the resources that are available to them. They will also have videos/materials that they have created to share with their peers.

Six Facets of Understanding:

Explain: Students will explain the blended learning model

Interpret: Students will be sourcing information from online and will need to work out which sources are useful for their goals.

Apply: Contribute to online discussions, class social media pages and in-class lessons

Have perspective: Students will learn from others around the world. They will encounter different approaches and strategies to learning and applying mathematics to problems.

Empathize: Students will engage constructively in this learning environment offering support and help for their peers.

Have self-knowledge: Students will learn about their own strengths and weakness with respect to online learning or personalised learning or blended learning.
