Dear Industry Speaker

Thank you for taking the time and bringing your industry perspective for the YOUTH CODERS CLUB. Our club meeting are open to every Silicon Valley student for no charge.

OBJECTIVE OF YOUR TALK

The objective of your talk is to get the kids to get excited about technology, about the Silicon Valley industry and start strongly considering a career in high-tech. It is your opportunity to provide some simple learning for these kids, ignite an interest in a technology career. Provide some of the industry insights, and how interesting it can be. Perhaps, how your company is changing the world with your job. And perhaps also a bit about software development - after all we are a club that is focused on building software and apps.

We have a wide age group of kids participating. Mainly most of them are in high school, but we have a few from Middle School and a few from Elementary School also. I suggest you cater your topic to high school students.

- As a career choice, you had many options. How did you arrive at this?

- How are new products rolled out at <your company>?

- What kind of internship opportunities exist at <your company>

- How exciting it is to work at <your company>

- Any specific words of advice for kids like us - tips for success

Please plan to speak for about 20 minutes. After your talk, a few Kids may have a question or two. In the interest of time, we will keep the questions restricted to a few..

LOGISTICS
We typically get about 30 to 40 kids who participate in this weekly learning session. The first part of the session is your presentation as the industry speaker.

You should be at the Saunders room in the Joan Pisani Saratoga Community Center - right across US Post Office. This room is in the Senior Center area - if you are familiar with our community center. You should be able to find the JOAN PISANI sign outside and you enter through the double doors inside. There is a city of Saratoga attendant who will be able to guide you. We will be in of the SAUNDERS rooms - should not be hard to find us.

Here is the address: 19655 Allendale Ave, Saratoga, CA 95070

Please try to be there 10 minutes before the start.

We will have a projector for you to project in case you need it.

Dress code: Casual - as we usually have students from the local schools joining in.
