Hello, my name is Mya. I’m 20 years old and I was born and raised in Wisconsin, which is fitting because I love cheese. I have also lived in 4 other states. Some of my hobbies include going on last minute adventures, being with friends, and traveling the world. In February of 2021, I graduated from a ministry organization called “Youth With a Mission” (YWAM), where I also met Emma. We were both there for the Children At Risk program where we both came to realize that we have always wanted to go to Africa and are called to children. I never thought that one day God would actually call me here. I am so excited to be on this journey and I can’t wait to get started!
Hello, my name is Emma and I’m 20 years old. I’m from southeast Iowa, where the state motto is “fields of opportunities,” because there are many, many fields of corn. Some of my hobbies include spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and going on roadtrips. I’ve always had a heart for children and the continent of Africa ever since I was a child! I’m so blessed to witness the faithfulness of God in my life, starting with this opportunity to finally be here in Burundi and start this ministry with my best friend Mya!
The Lord has given us the opportunity to start an orphanage and we are so excited! We currently have a home that we are renting and are in need of some supplies.
We are in need of:
Total cost for immediate housing needs: $900
We currently have three young boys enrolled in one of the best private schools in Burundi. There they are receiving education in many subjects and learning English and French.

Our vision for Compassion in Action is to have our own land, build a house, and have our ministry based out of there. In order for this to happen, we need to purchase land. While this is not necessary at the moment, we would appreciate donations, so we can start saving money for land. The estimated cost of land here is $50,000 which also includes building the home. Would you consider partnering with us and sowing into this vision?
