In this unfinished study portrait Baroness d’Erlanger wears the same outfit and golden laurel wreath as in a second study portrait of her [4605], which also remained in the artist’s studio until his death. The other portrait still exists, but the present one was amongst the paintings destroyed in 1947 in accordance with de László’s will.
