Q: What can I theme?

A: You can theme practically ANY application installed on your device, including Play Store, Gmail, Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Chrome, Google Drive, Google Photos, WeChat, etc. You can also theme system applications too.

Q: How do I do that?

A: There are several options, but the easiest way is to use Substratum Lite, available on the Play Store, and downloading your favourite OneUI compatible themes. You may also import your own overlay APK from another app by using the share menu.

Q: After applying the theme, my apps aren’t themed!

A: Always try restarting your device after applying the Synergy-created theme. If that does not work, try applying another Samsung theme, then applying the Synergy-created theme.

Q: Some Samsung apps are still not theming (e.g. Contacts or Settings)!

A: You may have to contact the theme developer, as Samsung apps are sensitive to being themed, the first two FAQs exhaust the available options as your overlays should be enabled. However if you’re just looking to black out your device, enable Night Mode and your system apps will be themed - as Synergy mainly works to theme your third party applications!

Q: Applying the Default theme won’t clear overlays anymore, or themes are jumbled up! (e.g. High Contrast showing on High Contrast: Sky Black)

A: First you will have to apply High Contrast (the offending theme), and uninstall the Synergy-created theme. Reboot your device with High Contrast applied, then apply the Default theme. When you see the Default Theme, delete High Contrast from Galaxy Themes and then reboot. Check if the reboot cleared all overlays (for instance try pulling down the QS panel), and if it does, continue using Synergy.

Q: What are these placeholder overlays ⅓, ⅔, 3/3?

A: They are replacements for the existing High Contrast theme, so you won’t get a janky looking theme with certain aspects from the Samsung theme and your own theme.

Q: How do I turn on Night Mode with a theme applied?

A: Use the shortcut to the system Night Mode settings on the navigation drawer. For once, you will be asked to install our Night Mode Enabler plugin, complete the installation process and the Night Mode settings should open automatically.

Q: Why does it show 56+1 at the top of the app?

A: We allow users to add up to 56 overlays excluding the Samsung Common Framework (fwk). The Samsung Common Framework does not count towards your overlay limit.

Q: How do I delete an overlay?

A: Just swipe on the overlay!
