This is a template proposal with guidelines on key aspects you might want to include when writing your proposal. When writing a proposal, keep in mind that it should be concise, yet detailed, clear, and convincing.

This will help you gain support for your proposal from the PolkaDAO community. Note that these are just suggestions and are not mandatory.

Process

  1. Write down your proposal using this template. (Feel free to make a copy of it using File -> “Make a copy” in the top bar + allow others to comment on the Google Doc)
  2. Make sure the google doc is open for reading and commenting!
  3. Share your proposal on our community Discord. Look specifically for a channel named #proposals..
  4. Adapt the proposal based on the feedback you receive

Reward Requested

  1. Fund Requested:
  1. For now you should only request DAI (no ETH, nor DOT, etc).
  2. The recommended upper bound for fund requested in $1000 DAI - break down your proposal into several smaller ones should you need more.
  1. Reputation requested: Read more in our FAQ how to assess how much reputation to ask for. For the launch of the PolkaDAO 20% of reputation is live so there is a total pool of 200k reputation overall, an example proposal that is asking for funding may ask for an example of a total of 500-1000 reputation, which would be approximately .25 to .5% of the overall voter power.

Here are some examples from the Dash community that may inspire you for writing your own:

  • Documentary (good example in terms of the sections included, but on the long side)

Proposals for the PolkaDAO can be related to Polkadot in many different ways, E.G. an art project proposal, educational in nature, software development, community engagement efforts. Please keep your proposal relative in nature to Polkadot for chances of the approval to be higher.
