Wilkes University Update

Because we have had to cancel many of our scheduled events, campus visits, and counselor travel, we have developed a special virtual experience for our admitted students who will be making a tough decision this spring. Students can experience campus, student life, residence life, academics, and more from the comfort of their own homes. Students and their families can also meet with admissions or financial aid counselors virtually.

Virtual Experience for Underclassmen

Juniors and sophomores may have originally planned this spring for visiting campuses and finding out more about their top schools. We have a solution! We've created a virtual experience just for underclassmen to learn more about Wilkes, without ever leaving their home. Students can even schedule one-on-one virtual meetings with counselors, in addition to learning about campus life, current students, academic offerings, and more!

Updates as of 4/1/2020

Dickinson College Update

As you may know, our campus is closed currently, in the wake of nationwide shutdowns aimed at containing the spread of COVID-19.

For seniors: We have set up a new page highlighting Dickinson’s robust virtual visit options, including special admitted-student Q&As and virtual office hours with faculty. Please also note that, given the challenges that your seniors face in making a final college choice at this time, we have extended our enrollment deadline to May 15.

For Juniors: Our virtual visit page includes great options for students just beginning to explore all that Dickinson has to offer—virtual tours, a virtual Q&A and a gallery that gives a look into every facet of life at Dickinson—safely, from home. We know that juniors are worried about the impact this spring will have on their college applications. Of course, our longstanding test-optional policy means canceled standardized-test administrations won’t affect an application to Dickinson. We know that grades for this spring may or may not be what they would have wanted or may have changed to pass/fail. We are committed to working with your juniors. Our message to them: slow down, take a breath, control what they can and explain what they can’t. We understand.

For more information on Dickinson’s response to the pandemic, please see our page dedicated to transmitting this information.

Our staff is available to help, readily available via email and phone

Florida State University Update

Since we are working remotely, the best way to reach us is via email at admissions@fsu.edu. We promise to respond to you as quickly as we can.

Let’s face it – there really is no substitute for the “real thing” of taking a walking tour of campus. We take great pride in showing off our beautiful campus and we hope to open registration for campus tours as soon as it is deemed safe. While not the same, we do have a very good virtual tour of campus available at visit.fsu.edu . We also plan on adding several live-streaming events, including campus tours, soon. These will be listed on our website and previously registered students and families will be notified via email once these opportunities become available.

We understand that some students and families may need more time before making a final decision on what college to attend by the traditional May 1 deposit deadline. If that is you, please email us at admissions@fsu.edu and let us know that you need more time. We will be glad to give you more time to make this difficult decision.

Our Accepted Student Celebration scheduled to take place on campus on April 4 will NOT BE HELD IN PERSON - it will be conducted as a VIRTUAL ACCEPTED STUDENT CELEBRATION on that day.

In addition, instead of on-campus daily information sessions and tours, we will be hosting a variety of webinars and other virtual experiences including:

Accepted students may view and sign up for these sessions through their application portal and the enrollment guide website.

For prospective students, we will be offering interactive online information sessions daily, in addition to our virtual campus tour. We hope that our normal visit schedule will resume at some point later this year, and we will be sure to communicate those changes with our prospective students.

We also encourage both accepted and prospective students (and, of course, counselors!) to follow our social media platforms:

Ohio State update

To limit the spread of the virus, the state of Ohio has asked that we remain local and minimize contact by avoiding large gatherings. To achieve this, the university has enacted the following changes:

Getting in touch with us

Our staff is ready to help. Counselors, please contact one of our Columbus campus admissions counselors or staff on the regional campuses with questions.

Students and families should continue directing their questions to askabuckeye@osu.edu. Please let students know that our response times will be longer — while we'll work to provide our very best customer service, the reality is that our communications center is staffed heavily with students, who may not be on campus.

An online visit experience is in the works

While it won't fully substitute an in-person visit, we're working on a web page that will allow families to see campus, be immersed in the Buckeye experience and perhaps even hear from some of our colleges. More on that to come. As a start, students can always take a virtual tour of the Columbus camp

Rutgers University Update

Please note the following very important changes to our usual programs and events.

  • Admitted Student Open House (scheduled for Saturday, April 4) will now be hosted online only. Check your inbox soon for details about this new and exciting 'On Demand' experience, as well as additional online events throughout April.

  • All campus tours through Wednesday, April 15 will be rescheduled. Campus visits scheduled after April 15 will be reevaluated in early April.
  • All high school visits and recruitment activities through April 7 will be rescheduled. Events scheduled after April 7 will be reevaluated in early April.

The Rutgers Visitor Center will not be able to take walk-in visitors beginning Friday, March 13 through Wednesday, April 15; however, we will still be ready and available to assist with all your questions via phone and email: 848-445-1000 or questions@admissions.rutgers.edu.

For general questions, please contact our Admissions Office at admissions@pct.edu or 570.327.4761.

Important Announcements from Iona College

Iona College has moved all classes online until at least April 14, 2020 and all on-campus events have been cancelled through this time frame.

As a result, we have canceled all undergraduate admissions events until April 14, 2020.  This includes all campus tours and information sessions, transfer student days, on-campus interviews, and our admitted students event scheduled for March 28, 2020.

At this time, we will still be offering our Admitted Student Day on April 26, as well as our Spring Preview Day, intended for high school sophomores and juniors, on May 3, 2020.  Additionally, we are still planning to conduct our pre-college summer program in July, for any of your students who may be registered for that program.

In the meantime, we recognize high school seniors and their families are in the midst of making an important decision about where to attend college next year.  While there is no substitute for the value an on-campus visit provides, we have created several resources and opportunities for your students to interact and learn more about Iona during this critical time:

Updates from the University of Arizona

The University of Arizona will:

The University of the South(Sewanee)

The University made the tough decision today to cancel all campus visits and events until further notice. This decision was made out of concern for the health and well-being of our students, staff, faculty, and the greater Sewanee community.

The Office of Admission will continue to offer a variety of online visit options for anyone who would like to connect and learn more about Sewanee. If you already have a campus visit scheduled, their admission counselor will reach out about alternative options.

Augustana College (IL)

Enrollment decision date extension: We are committed to extending the May 1 reply date to June 1. This applies to both the Campus Visit Grant, as well as the college decision deadline.

Campus visits: All campus visits are currently canceled. In place of in-person visits during this time, we are offering prospective students a Virtual Visit and online admissions info/counselor sessions.

Financial aid call sign-ups: Prospective students can schedule a financial aid call to get their questions answered by a member of our Admissions staff. Day and evening times available.

Connecting with your admissions counselor: Our entire staff will be available during this critical time and fully accessible by phone, email and video chat. You can find your Augustana rep here (and our entire staff directory here).

Updated pre-enrollment credit transfer policy: Augustana has removed the cap (formerly 30 credits) on the amount of dual-enrollment credits incoming students can apply towards their Augustana degree. They can also bring up to 24 Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate credits (up from 18).

Submission of final transcripts: To reduce the need for expediency, we hope to have final transcripts submitted to us by July 1.

COVID-19 campus updates: Current information regarding Augustana's ongoing response to COVID-19 can be found here.

William Paterson University

To ensure the health and well-being of you, your family, and the campus community, our admission team will work remotely through Friday, April 3. Our tentative time to reopen is Monday, April 6. Continue to monitor wpunj.edu for official updates.

Updates as of 3/17/2020

University of Connecticut Programming Cancellations

Your health and the health of UConn Nation is of the utmost importance, which is why we have made the decision to cancel our admitted student events across all five UConn campuses and throughout the country through April 6. The decision to cancel these events was not made lightly; however, the well-being of our community near and far is the guiding principle in our actions surrounding COVID-19.

We will keep you well informed should we need to extend cancellations past April 6.

Campus Tours

Out of an abundance of caution, all campus tours scheduled from Sunday, March 15 through Monday, April 6 have also been cancelled. Those students with a cancelled tour reservation are asked to contact the Lodewick Visitors Center to reschedule their visit.

University of New Hampshire cancelled on Campus events thru April 5th

University of New Hampshire has made the decision to cancel all campus events scheduled through April 5.

We are sorry we won’t be able to welcome you to campus over the next several weeks. We know experiencing the UNH campus is an important part of your getting to know the university, so we invite you to watch our virtual tour and connect with us on social media @BeAUNHWildcat.

Important Information from Olin College of Engineering

Olin College of Engineering is working to create additional virtual resources which we hope will be of use to students until we’re able to welcome visitors back to campus. In the meanwhile, our website, including our Admission and Olinsider blogs provide a variety of perspectives on the Olin experience.Interested students are encouraged to follow us on Instagram or Twitter and subscribe to our YouTube Channel. While none of these virtual experiences can truly capture the essence of what makes Olin such a special place, they do provide some insight into the myriad of people and experiences that is Olin.

Bard College's Open House for Accepted Students Changed to Online Event

The Bard college Office of Admission has made some decisions that we wanted you to be aware of for yourself and your students:

We are shifting Open House for Accepted Students and Their Families from an on-campus event to a virtual event on Saturday, April 4.

All students admitted to Bard will be automatically registered for the virtual event. Information about the virtual Open House will be posted on our accepted students webpage in the coming weeks, and we will remind students via email.

As of today, Monday, March 16, we have cancelled all campus tours through Sunday, April 12. We have notified all guests who were already registered for a campus tour between now and April 12. We will notify you and our registered guests should we need to extend the cancellations.

If we can be helpful in offering further information about students' admissions decisions or how to support students in our enrollment process, please don't hesitate to reach out to the admissions counselor who covers your territory. You'll find a full directory with contact information here.

TCNJ's Lions Day Open House, Saturday, November 16th

Dear STEM Student,

If you’re a future science major with an interest in teaching, you may already be aware of the critical shortage of highly qualified STEM teachers in high school classrooms.  What you may not know is that due to this urgent problem, talented students who choose to pursue a career as a future physics teacher may be eligible for FULL-TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS during their junior and senior years of college!

The National Science Foundation has recognized The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) as an institution that is particularly qualified to offer the training and support needed to enable future physics teachers to achieve success in their classrooms.  With the help of a grant of over a million dollars from the National Science Foundation's Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program, TCNJ is continuing to build on its success in certifying highly-qualified, new physics teacher graduates by providing financial and mentoring support to aspiring physics teachers.  In addition to the possibility of receiving full-tuition scholarships, TCNJ offers many other benefits to students pursuing their physics teacher certification.

TCNJ Physics/Secondary Education dual majors benefit immeasurably from:

Being part of a community that includes:

     - Over 30 physics/secondary education students

     - Over 90 physics majors in total (including physics/secondary education majors)

     - 10 accomplished and accessible physics faculty who take the time to get to know their students

     - Over 30 local physics teachers, including many TCNJ alumni, who offer support, guidance and

classroom experiences for pre-service teachers through the NJ Physics Teacher Advisory Group

Being part of a program that offers:

     - 95% graduation rates

     - Small class sizes that promote engagement in learning and interaction with faculty

     - Abundant opportunities for students to actively engage in research

     - Individualized advising and support from faculty

     - 1st class lab facilities (including 2 state--of-the-art observatories, a digital planetarium, and nano-

            scale microscopy)

     - A high level of camaraderie with informal access to physics faculty and students on a regular,

ongoing basis (e.g., Physics lounge, "Tea Time")

     - A renowned school of education with options to complete an integrated 5-year master's degree

           program (saving time and tuition)

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Physics/Secondary Education major at TCNJ –please attend TCNJ's Lions Day Open House on Saturday, November 16th, and go to the Physics Department's academic breakout session at 11 AM.  Part of this session will be dedicated to TCNJ's Physics/Secondary Education major and details about TCNJ’s Robert Noyce Physics Teacher Education Scholarship Program.  You may also wish to attend the Secondary Education session at the School of Education.  For Lions Day details, go to: https://admissions.tcnj.edu/visit/lions-day-open-houses/  To learn more about our program, please visit our website (https://physics.tcnj.edu/noyce/).

West Point -ROTC Information Session - South Jersey - 9 June 2019

On Sunday, June 9th at 1:00PM at the Academic Center at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, One Medical Center Drive, Stratford, New Jersey 08084, the West Point Field Force will present a briefing on what benefits you will receive from West Point.

The West Point experience is focused around the four pillars of CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT not available at any other college.  Character, Academic, Physical and Military.  At West Point you will learn and incorporate the ideals of loyalty, respect, integrity, courage and honor in your daily life.  You will learn failure can make you stronger.  Going outside your comfort zone helps you grow.  Character is relevant.  Grit makes the difference in success in life and never, ever quit!

Academically, you will learn to communicate effectively and think critically and creatively.   You will hear about the all expense paid internship programs available ONLY at West Point.  Would you like to spend 3 weeks working in Washington at the National Security Council?  How about 3 weeks in England studying Shakespeare?  Maybe 3 weeks at Oxford University?

How about participation in one of the 130 Cadet Clubs including Academic, Sports, Hobby, Military, Religious and Support Clubs?

Did you know many graduates go on to all-expense paid graduate school?

Find out how West Point graduates compete for and receive so many Rhodes, Marshall, Hertz, Olmsted, Mitchell, Truman and Fulbright Scholarships after graduation!

Also find out where your career will be in 10-15 years after graduation and the benefits not found in civilian life.

West Point is not for everyone but if this culture and these opportunities appeal to you take the chance on a once in a lifetime opportunity!

The two paths to Army Officership are West Point and the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). Both of these paths can provide FULL SCHOLARSHIPS.  If you'd like to get more information about each of these paths to becoming an Officer, you are cordially invited to attend an information session.

Please bring your parents so they can learn about these opportunities too and help support you in this process.

You are welcome to bring guests so long as space is available. We look forward to meeting you!

This decision can change your life and maybe the world!

The West Point Experience

On Sunday, May 19th at 1:00PM at Seton Hall University, Jubilee Hall, South Orange, New Jersey, the West Point Field Force will present a briefing on What you will get from West Point that you will not get from an Ivy League Top Tier University

New Jersey families can dramatically reduce their college costs by up to 100 percent at Rutgers University–Camden. The first of its kind among New Jersey’s public four-year colleges and universities, this innovative program can help you greatly reduce or completely avoid student loan debt.
How It Works
Reduce your college costs by up to 100 percent!
The program closes the gap between federal, state, and institutional sources of financial support and the balance of tuition and the general campus fee.
Rutgers–Camden automatically applies the Bridging the Gap grant to these remaining costs after any other need-based federal, state, and/or institutional aid have been applied, based on family adjusted gross income (AGI):
$60,000 or less: receive a grant covering 100 percent of tuition and the general campus fee.
$60,001 to $80,000: receive a grant covering 75 percent of remaining tuition and the general campus fee.
$80,001 to $100,000: receive a grant covering 50 percent of remaining tuition and the general campus fee.
