“I must be willing to give whatever it takes to do good to others. This requires that I be willing to give until it hurts. Otherwise, there is no true love in me, and I bring injustice, not peace, to those around me.” -Mother Teresa
Thanks to all parents who were able to attend our School Program Night on Thursday, September 22nd. Parents were able to to learn about the class routines, expectations, and the exciting curriculum that will be covered in our classrooms this year. It was great to see such strong attendance for the evening.
Agricultural Awareness Program
The Grade 4 students were very fortunate to attend an Agricultural Awareness program at the Carp Fair on Friday, September 23rd, that was offered by the Carp Agricultural Society. The students rotated through stations featuring pigs, eggs, crops, bees, horses, gardening and dairy cows. A special thanks to the Carp Agricultural Society for providing this free program and for covering the cost of our transportation.
A reminder to parents to make sure they are not parking at the Jackson Trails Condominiums, located beside the school, when they are dropping off or picking up students. The road at the the complex is a fire route, so parents parking on that road risk getting tickets or getting towed.
We are very pleased that the vast majority of our students are getting to school on time each day. We thank our parent community for ensuring the students are arriving at school in a timely fashion and keeping the bus lane safe and clear before and after school.
School Council Meeting
The first meeting of the St. Stephen Catholic School Council this school year will be held on Tuesday, September 27th, at 6:30pm in the Learning Commons. Information on the council can be found at: http://ste.ocsb.ca/catholic-school-council.
Also on Tuesday, September 27th, Grade Six students who signed up to participate in the PALS program will receive their training from Mrs. Hodgins and Ms. Beardsley. The students will be prepared to help around the school and show leadership in a variety of ways. It is a very fun and informative day that will motivate our student leaders to make a positive impact in the school community.
