Year 10 | Be able to research, interpret and analyse labour market information and use this to inform career decisions. Be able to articulate how a range of encounters with employers and employees has given a greater understanding of the skills, qualities, qualifications and experiences employers look for when recruiting employees. Understand the range of progression pathways and qualification types available. Know how these are similar and different. Have encountered the full range of progression providers, reflected and evaluated these in relation to learning styles and personal career aspirations. Have experienced work places and be able to evidence the skills developed. Be able to demonstrate an understanding of how an organisation is structured and what it takes to be successful in the world of work. Be aware of employer/employee rights/responsibilities, health and safety and mental wellbeing in relation to work. |

Be aware of the key features of the recruitment and selection process (research, application forms, aptitude tests and interview techniques) and know what is required to be successful. Have accessed impartial information, advice and support in relation to next steps. Have constructed a personal careers action plan containing clear, well informed and realistic next steps in relation to progression into a ‘remarkable future’. Be able to evaluate personal strengths and set targets for further development. Secure a positive post 16 destination. |

Be fully aware of the economic, academic, social and personal implications of each progression pathway. Have an up to date Personal Statement and a concise and compelling CV. Know how to create a professional profile and manage reputation online. Confidently participate in the full recruitment and selection process (research, application, aptitude tests, presentation skills and interviews).
