March 23, 2017

ASD (2:40-3:20 p.m.) and/or Wednesday School (2:40-4:40 p.m.):  None

The rumor I’ve been hearing is that this year’s yearbook is going to better than last year but the last day to purchase a yearbook is Friday, March 31.  So if you have not purchased one yet, you need to get your order in by Friday, March 31.  Cost is $22 and order forms can be found in the main office.

Is there a writing workshop, a band camp, science camp, tech camp, art camp, or another type of academic or fine arts opportunity you are interested in attending this summer?  If there is, submit an Allegan Education Association Scholarship Foundation application to apply for financial help.  The applications are in the office, are for students in grades K-8, and are due by April 28.

Flyers for the Tech Camp at the AAESA Tech Center are now available for 6th, 7th, & 8th graders in the office. Some of the things they are offering are:  3D Printing, Lego Robotics, Camera to Art, Culinary Arts, plus a lot more.  A reminder that if you fill out an AEA Scholarship application, you might receive a scholarship that would help pay for this.

Calling all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders!  We need you to sign up and play tennis.  This is for all you guys and gals.  Get your physicals done so you can be ready to go on March 29!!!

The high school will be performing the play "The Giver" tonight and Friday with shows at 7:00 p.m. both nights. There are advance tickets available at the high school office for only $3.

Student Council Food Drive Thursday and Friday of this week.  Reminder that the top six classrooms that meet the quota of 5 food drive items per student will receive a pizza party.  Also, any student that brings in 5 items will receive a coupon to get into a future social night for free OR can get a large Pixy Stix (while supplies last) from the Tigers Store.

This Friday is the next MS Social Event in the gym from 3 to 5 p.m.  Everyone come and have fun! The cost is $2 to get in, and many of the usual snacks, like pizza, water, and candy will be available for purchase!  Hope to see you there!

There will be a parent meeting on Thursday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m. in the middle school cafeteria for any girl that is interested in playing summer softball.

Minecraft club starts in Lab 111 at 2:40 today.

Attention wrestlers we are having an ice cream party in the cafeteria next Tuesday after school to celebrate the season.

Attention Track Team Members:  Please stop by Coach Weber’s room, 210, during passing so he can get your jersey size.

Last weekend, two 6th-graders from Allegan competed at the 12 and Under Michigan State Swimming Championships.  Chloe Dean placed 25th as part of her 200 medley relay and Titus Smith took all-state honors in all 8 events that he swam.  Titus was also the State Champion in the 50-yard Butterfly!  This weekend, Ben Groth, Brooke Houser and Hayley Staffen will compete at the 13 and Over State Championships, also in Holland.

Schedules for this trimester are finalized.   No more schedule changes will be made at this time.

Now at this time, we would like to give any students and teachers interested the opportunity to say the Pledge of Allegiance.
