Pokemon Prism Guide
Key: Story, Pokemon info (names), Trainers, Items (story items), Tips
Ignore the colors when used for typings and bosses
Start
- After creating your trainer, progress normally through the game until you get to the mine cart, which takes you to your first dungeon, the Acqua Mines.
Acqua Mines
- First dungeon of the game, straightforward.
- You won’t be able to pull up your menu until you obtain your first Pokemon.
- Cannot catch any Pokemon, but you get your starter Pokemon, Larvitar.
- Larvitar, Level 5, Rock/Ground
- You will need to use Larvitar to crawl through a hole and remove the boulder blocking a passage, which is done by flipping a switch with Larvitar.
- You’ll find a Potion along the way throughout the mines.
- Talking to the wild Larvitar with yours gets you a Soft Sand, while talking to the guy at the end of the mines has him give you an Oran Berry.
- Find a hidden Gold Token as you explore the second floor of the mines!
Caper City
- First town of the game, progression is blocked by a girl NPC next to the PokeCenter and a guy NPC below the PokeMart. To proceed, talk to the Professor in the house just above the PokeMart, he will ask you to go visit his brother on Route 69. This removes the girl and allows you to proceed to Route 70.
- Find a hidden Gold Token in one of the shelves of the PokeMart!
Route 70
- Straightforward, access to Tunnel and gate to Route 69.
- Don’t waste your time going through the tunnel, an NPC nearby tells you that a guard blocks it, which so happens to be true.
- Wild Pokemon found here include:
- Pidgey, Normal/Flying (Morning & Day)
- Caterpie, Bug
- Metapod, Bug
- Zubat, Poison/Flying (Night)
- Paras, Bug/Grass
- Sentret, Normal
- Ralts, Psychic/Fairy (Night)
- You won’t be able to catch anything yet, so be sure to remember to revisit if you want a Pokemon on this route!
- Near the Tunnel entrance you’ll find 2 Repels and an Antidote.
- Find a hidden Gold Token in a rock formation near the Repels!
Tunnel
- Going through here is futile, as a guard will not let you through without a Rijon Pass.
- Wild Pokemon found here include:
- Zubat, Poison/Flying
- Machop, Fighting
- Geodude, Rock/Ground
- Aron, Steel/Rock
Gate connecting Routes 70 and 69
- The guard here gives you a Town Map.
- Access it through the menu!
Route 69
- Straightforward, you will only have access to the lone house that you find. Going inside the house brings you into your first Rival battle!
- Find a hidden Gold Token in the gate!
Back to Caper City
- Revisit the Professor and get yourself a Pokedex! Then proceed to Route 71.
- Getting the Pokedex removes the guy NPC south of the PokeMart, as well as now allowing you to buy things from the PokeMart! Most importantly, you can now buy Poke Balls, but I would recommend waiting a bit...

- You’ll find 2 Repels next to the NPC.
Mound Cave
- There are two entrances to Mound Cave, the southern and northern entrances. The southern entrance (AKA the one on Route 73) is where to progress.
- Going through the northern entrance has you in a dead end at this point, but it’s worth going to for TM31 Mud-Slap!

- Wild Sneasel and Gligar have a chance to hold their respective evolutionary items!
- Paras, Level 11, Bug/Grass
- Sneasel, Level 12, Dark/Ice

- Going up a floor after entering the cave will have you find a Super Potion!
- After the Super Potion, if you continue onward you’ll encounter a maze. Going downward you’ll find a Mining Pick along the way.
- Going down a floor after entering the cave enters you into a platformer-esque area, where you’ll come across a Moon Stone.
Mound Cave Puzzle: Dungeons and Palettes
- In order to proceed you’ll want an Electric type like Mareep or Shinx and a Fire type like Cyndaquil, Vulpix, or Growlithe.
- Alternatively, an Electric type move on anyone also works!
- The point of this puzzle is to light up the room with an Electric type and find 5 sticks of dynamite, all while battling the mysterious Palette Patrollers roaming around the cave. The sticks of dynamite are all guarded by them, so you are forced to defeat them to proceed.
- It’s crucial to note that all the black areas that would normally be inaccessible (like walls) are now holes in the ground that you can fall in. These are very annoying to deal with, so be wary!
- There is a mining cart available that you can take to access past areas (Acqua Mines, Clathrite Tunnel) as well a new area, Firelight Caverns. These aren’t particularly important as of now, but there are new encounters you can capture now in Acqua Mines, albeit a bit low leveled. No wild Pokemon spawn in the Firelight Caverns, nor do any new ones spawn in Clathrite Tunnel.
- Wild Pokemon found here include:
- Abra, Psychic (Acqua Mines)
- Venonat, Bug/Poison (Acqua Mines)
- Sentret, Normal (Acqua Mines)
- Makuhita, Fighting (Acqua Mines)

- Take the Mining Cart to Firelight Caverns and find a ConfuseGuard!
- Once you’ve defeated the 5 Palette trainers and gotten 5 sticks of dynamite, take them all the way up to Mound Cave’s top floor, where you’ll talk to a Hiker who will set the explosives (only if you have a Fire type in your party to light them) and clear the path to Spurge City.
- Talking to the Hiker in Spurge City’s Pokemon Center tells you that Mound Cave may have shifted a bit due to the explosion. Backtrack a bit to find that some rocks have been cleared, giving you access to TM17 Protect!
Spurge City
- Houses the Department Store, Orphanage, Game Corner, and access to Route 74. The Gym is not open to you at the moment, so take the time to explore!
- Talk to the lady in the second room of the Orphanage to receive an Orphan Card. This allows you to donate Pokemon to the Orphanage for points. Please use the Orphanage at your own risk. You can cancel donating a Pokemon to the lady if you wish, so it’s safe to think about it! Remember, if you donated a Pokemon, you can never get it back again!
- Getting a Coin Case is needed to play at the Game Corner, which is sold to you by an NPC on the right side of it for 1000 Pokedollars. Purchasing coins costs another 1000 for 50 coins, so be wise with your money!
- The best game to grind coins at the Game Corner is Blackjack! Be smart!

Heath Village
- Welcome to family run Heath Village! There’s no Pokemon Center or Mart here, as they are replaced by an Inn and Shop building in the northern end of the village.
- The Inn replaces the Center, but costs 100 Pokedollars to stay at.
- The Shop here has many items, but more importantly, is your first chance to buy Mining Picks! Be sure to stock up on them!
- Explore the rest of city and prepare to take on the Gym, which is the building south of the gate from Route 74.
- Past the two ledges you’ll find an NPC that gives you the Bicycle if you have walked the right number of steps!
- The house next to the ledges has a sleeping man that if you awake will give you TM35 Sleep Talk!

- After defeating Rinji, you are now able to use Cut outside of battle! Now, proceed to Route 69. You’ve come full circle!

- The point of this puzzle is, as explained by an NPC Xatu, find 3 Curo Shards to cure the Charizard and find out just what is going on in this forest!
- Be careful of the wild Trapinch that may spawn! A Flying type Pokemon or a Pokemon with the ability Run Away will be very helpful, like Pidgeotto or Sentret.
- Having a Fire type move and the move Cut will save some time later on!
- Curo Shard 1: Finding Caterpie
- You’ll eventually come across a Butterfree looking for its baby Caterpie. Take the Butterfree down South and you’ll eventually see the Caterpie waiting for its Mama at the end of a path!
- The Butterfree will join your party for the time being until you find Caterpie, and will be holding some Silk! Swap the Silk over to your main Pokemon if you want to keep it!
- Butterfree can also help with fleeing the Trapinch around the forest, in case you want to keep it throughout the entire mission!
- Alternatively, if you encounter the Caterpie first, he will join your party and you can lead it to Butterfree! Here’s a cool tip: try evolving Caterpie and see what the difference in dialogue!
- Butterfree will now leave the party and reward you with a Curo Shard!
- Curo Shard 2: Lazy Pikachu
- To the southeast you’ll find a Pikachu hungry for some Burnt Berries! You can find 2 Oran Berry trees throughout the forest (one from near the entrance to the forest and one from a beach accessed near the Pikachu), take at least 1 Berry up to a campfire site up north where you’ll need a Fire type move to light it and burn a berry.
- Refuse the Pikachu and you’ll be forced into a battle with him! Be warned, he’s tough! Defeating it will not give you the Curo Shard, though.
- Bringing your own Pikachu causes that Pikachu to join your party! To get the Curo Shard, take him to a berry tree instead for him to gnaw on the roots!
- Bringing the Burnt Berry to Pikachu will give him a snack and give you another Curo Shard!
- Curo Shard 3: Charizard Den
- A Charmander has lost contact with its parents and wants to find a way home! The water separates them and may be able to crossed over with something big...
- To the northwest of the forest is a maze where you’ll find a Giant Rock waiting at the end.
- To the south near the Pikachu from before is a beach! Here you’ll find a machine with a switch, flip it and collect the Giant Rock that was surrounded by water!
- Talking to the Wartortle forces you into a battle with him, so be careful if you’re not prepared!
- Bring the two rocks over to Charmander, where he’ll place both across the water and find his way home!
- Talk to the right Charizard in the den to open the way deeper into the den, then follow the tunnel all way to the end to find your last Curo Shard.
- With all 3 shards in hand, talk to the brainwashed Charizard above the den to cure him, then find yourself in the Scientist’s secret lab, where they’ll challenge you to a battle!

- Wigglytuff, Level 24, Fairy/Sound
- Be careful setting up on her; all her Pokemon know Rollout and Attract and will deal heavy damage the longer they’re on the field!
- Defeating Brooklyn has her reward you with the Charm Badge and TM45 Attract! The badge also lets you use Strength outside of battle, but that’s of no use yet.
- Exiting the Gym has yourself being ambushed by her Totodile, who then joins your party out of desperation!
- Totodile, Level 15, Water

- Brown Jewel (F4): After hitting the switch on the lower right of F2 (labeled Murum), head back up to F4; you’ll notice an entire section of the wall is now gone by the staircase to F5. Go through it and the little hallway full of pitfalls, and if you make it to the end, you’ll find 3 Poke Balls; one of them is the Jewel, the other 2 are wild encounters.
- These 2 wild encounters can have some surprise Pokemon in them, like Metang! Be sure to save before trying!
- Find the Gas Mask across a pit you jump over on F3! (Must fall through first)
- You will need this item to access F5, or else it’s too poisonous!
- Find TM37 Sandstorm on F4!
- Find TM24 Dragonbreath by falling through a pitfall on F3 into F2.
- Find a Pearl on F4 by jumping across some pits! (Must fall through first)
- Find 3 Max Repels on F5!
- With all 4 jewels, you are now able to open the chest on F6 and obtain the Prism Jewel! Give it to the NPC on the left side of the Ruins entrance (with the oasis) to obtain the Fake ID, which you can use to bypass the guard on Route 78!
Route 79
- This short route consists of a boardwalk surrounded by water, with access to Saxifrage Island!
- Trainers

- Find a Water Ring by Surfing up the northwest portion of the route, above the cave entrance to Route 78!
- Find a hidden Gold Token near some rocks underneath the boardwalk!
Saxifrage Island
- I highly suggest stocking up on items at a PokeMart and doing anything else you need to do before entering this area, for reasons you shall soon see.
- A short cave is your welcome mat to the island, but as soon as you walk out through the other side, a guard will catch you and place you in prison for bringing a Fake ID! Oh no!
- Find 2 Mining Picks near the entrance from Route 79!
Saxifrage Island Puzzle: Jigglydoughnuts
- You’ll notice right away that it’s easy to escape outside; jump across the pit and talk to Palette Blue waiting outside near some grass, and he’ll give you the Cage Key.
- Cage Keys are consumable, meaning they can only be used once!
- Outside is some grass for some wild Pokemon, which include:
- Butterfree, Bug/Flying
- Vulpix, Fire
- Magmar, Fire
- Houndour, Fire/Dark
- Natu, Flying/Psychic
- Xatu, Flying/Psychic
- Vibrava, Ground/Dragon
- Head back inside the prison and unlock your door, consuming the key. Heading upstairs or downstairs is not possible due to blockades (and/or guards).
- Taking this entrance leads you to another part of the floor you were just on! Take the time to explore and know your surroundings.
- On this floor of the prison, find a Cage Key to the lower left after entering.
- Find another Cage Key at the northern end of the path.
- And on the upper left, find the Fluffy Coat waiting for you!
- This item will be important for you later on, so make sure you get it!
- Head back to where you first were, then head southeast to a room at the end of the bottom hallway. Here you’ll find some prisoners, a guard, and the prisons very own Nurse Joy! Take the time to heal up if you haven’t.
- The prisoner at the table eating food will hand you a Cage Key after provoking you with some fitness advice!
- The guard here, if talked to, will challenge you to a battle!
- Electabuzz, Level 43, Electric
- Magmar, Level 43, Fire
- Head out of that room and go all the way to left end of the hallway, to a room filled with baths! An NPC here tells you that people often lose things in the baths, and right he is!
- Find a Cage Key hidden in the top bath!
- By this point, you should have acquired 4 Cage Keys! Now, go back to the main room where you first were; you now have the ability to open any of the cages you’d like!
- I would definitely advise you to save some keys if you can, as you’ll need them at a later point in time. It’s no big deal if you use them all here, though.
- Opening cages with prisoners in them will have them challenge you to a battle! Defeating some them will have them reward you with Cage Keys, so I will list which ones do and which don’t. (Starting from the top, clockwise, skipping the obvious Palette Black)
- Sailor Robert (gives Cage Key after defeating)
- Seaking, Level 39, Water
- Slowbro, Level 40, Water/Psychic

- Azumarill, Level 42, Water/Fairy
- Sailor Reed (gives Cage Key after defeating)
- Tentacruel, Level 41, Water/Poison
- Slowbro, Level 41, Water/Psychic
- Tentacruel, Level 42, Water/Poison
- You’ll also notice some Poke Ball items in some cages. The green Poke Ball holds 3 Friend Balls while the purple Poke Ball has a PP Up.
- Now, open Palette Black’s cage. After a long speech, he will hand you the Roof Card, allowing you to access the roof. With Cooltrainer Conner’s advice in hand about a secret password, it’s time to head up to the second floor, which was blocked at first by guards!
- You’ll notice that this floor is now empty of the guard blocking your way, but filled with even more! Thankfully they’re spread apart enough to let you explore.
- On the left side of the room is a passageway leading to a sort of power plant with 3 Pokemon in it! These poor Pokemon are being used as a power source for the prison, so help them break free!
- Flaaffy, Level 30, Electric
- Raichu, Level 30, Electric
- Electabuzz, Level 30, Electric
- At the top of this room is a door, go through it to find a Cage Key waiting for you!
- There’s a cafeteria room on the right side of this floor through a passageway. In it, you’ll find some Fries in the middle table, a Burger on the lower left table, a Soda Pop on the lower right, and 2 Burgers separate on the tables of the right side of the room.
- Find a hidden Cage Key in the lower right trash can!
- Find TM65 Explosion at the top left of the second floor!
- Find your way to the bottom right of the second floor, as there waits a guard who, if you have the Roof Card, will let you pass through to the Roof! But watch out, once going up the stairs you will be immediately ambushed by two guards!
- Arcanine, Level 41, Fire
- Lucario, Level 42, Fighting/Steel
- Pidgeot, Level 42, Normal/Flying
- Weavile, Level 41, Dark/Ice
- Ampharos, Level 42, Electric
- Carnivine, Level 42, Grass
- You must now head back down to the first floor and find Officer Paulie, who is in the workout room with Nurse Joy! He will tell you the password: Wigglyjelly! Or was it Jigglydoughnut? Oh well, now you can proceed to the basement floor, where the door blocking you before will now open with the password!
- Here you’ll find various caged Pokemon that you can fight after opening their cage with a Cage Key, including a mysterious caged Pokemon that runs as soon as you talk to it. For more information, head to the Legendary Pokemon section of the guide!
- Hariyama (x2), Level 45, Fighting
- Machoke, Level 45, Fighting
- Bronzong, Level 50, Steel/Psychic
- Metagross, Level 50, Steel/Psychic
- Now talk to the person to left of the area; it’s your Rival!
- Parasect, Level 41, Bug/Grass
- Ursaring, Level 42, Normal
- Scizor, Level 42, Bug/Steel
- Weavile, Level 43, Dark/Ice
- Shelgon, Level 44, Dragon
- Defeating your rival has him give you HM04 Strength! (Check out Strength Backtracking to see which areas have boulders you couldn’t push before!) Now head outside and you’re free! Your next destination? After healing at the Pokemon Center and the PokeMart on the island, head to the lower left of the island to finally find the Gym!
- Above the Pokemon Center is a cave leading to Route 80! Inside this cave is an item ball containing TM23 Iron Tail.
Saxifrage Island Gym
- This Gym’s specialty, as a rock band, is the Sound type, but since there are so few they also have Electric types. After defeating a trainer, a new one will pop up under a spotlight, so go forth!
- Trainers
- Magneton, Level 42, Electric/Steel
- Electabuzz, Level 43, Electric
- Magnezone, Level 44, Electric/Steel

- Magnezone, Level 43, Electric/Steel

- Exploud, Level 48, Sound
- Pretty easy Leader, as long as you have good coverage this should be an easy match.
- Defeating Cadence has her reward you with the Raucous Badge and TM79 Hyper Voice!
- Now that you have the 7th badge, the last Gym is located in Spurge City...but it’s still blocked! Remember the Fluffy Coat you picked up in prison? Head back to Naljo Ruins, where you’ll find another entrance to Clathrite Tunnel at the end of the oasis area, previously inaccessible due to the cold!
Strength Backtracking
- In Magikarp Caverns, going through the tunnel will have you come across a Strength boulder; push it over (no, it won’t break the ladder) and head up the new ladder to find a Prism Scale to the north, which will allow you to evolve a Feebas!
- On Route 77, near the entrance to Milos Catacombs is a Strength boulder; move it and follow the path to the end to find TM03 Curse!
- The last area of Milos Catacombs (go in from Phacelia Town to immediately find it) has a Strength boulder in the middle. Pushing it down will allow you to acquire the Trade Stone at the end of the path, which allows you to evolve trade evolutions!
- In Phacelia Town, there is a little rock formation blocked by a Strength boulder; moving it nets you TM54 Energy Ball!
- Enter Firelight Caverns via Route 85 and go up to find a Strength boulder. A Calcium and TM34 Swagger lurk behind it to the left and right, respectively.
Clathrite Tunnel (Second Part)
- You’re immediately introduced to ice puzzles. Time to slide!

- There is a Lum Berry tree on this route!
- At the end of the route is a cave connecting to the next destination, Phlox Town.
Phlox Town
- This town on a cliff has a laboratory that’s locked! Guess we’re headed to back to where we all started; the Acqua Mines.
- Bingo will be covered later!
Acqua Mines (Second Part)
- Upon entering you’ll notice an unknown Pokemon standing in the island in the middle of the water; ignore him for now, and take the ladder down.
- Alternatively, before doing that, Surf to the right to find an opening; inside is a room with a Sharp Beak.
- After a couple rooms of ladders, you’ll enter a hallway. Go to the end of the hallway, where you’ll find a Rhydon guarding what seems to be an opening; save, and prepare for battle, because this Rhydon’s actually a Shiny Rhydon! Yes, he is catchable!
- Rhydon, Level 50, Rock/Ground
- After battling the Rhydon, enter the place it was guarding; turns out it was the Phlox Town laboratory after all!
Phlox Town Puzzle: Panelmania
- Guess who’s back: direction panels! It seems the lab has something important if there’s a puzzle like this in the basement...but why?
- As such, I’ve listed a guide here to help navigate this confusing place. The panel you take will be listed as #, Direction, so for example: 9, Left would be a taking the panel pointing left with the number 9 on it.
- Take 9, Left, then 7, Left to find a strange panel with a shape; step on it to find a Max Revive, then take the other panel back to the starting position of the guide.
- 8, Up
- 9, Left
- 1, Left
- 5, Left
- 1, Right

- Talking to the guard on the bottom left forces you into a battle!
- Machoke, Level 44, Fighting
- Arcanine, Level 45, Fire
- Manectric, Level 45, Electric
- After defeating the guard, he will give you the Lab Card, which will give you access to the lab above ground! Take the purple panel back and make your way there!
Phlox Town Laboratory
- Wonder what’s going here? Hit the red button on the wall and go through the teleport panel. Oh, it’s the Scientists!
- Haunter, Level 45, Ghost/Gas
- Froslass, Level 46, Ice/Ghost
- Hit the blue button on the wall in front of No. 09 and go back to the first room to enter the blue panel this time!
- Hit the green button, head back and press the red button again, as if it was pressed before a red wall blocks the green panel. Now enter it!
- Solrock, Level 45, Rock/Psychic
- Lunatone, Level 46, Rock/Psychic
- Press the yellow button, go back and press red a third time, then go through the red panel and press the blue button, and lastly enter the yellow panel. Head south from there! Is that a Palette Patroller?!

- After defeating Palette Yellow, collect the item ball on the table containing TM61 Metronome!
- Pressing the brown button to the north takes you back to the entrance with the brown panel; rest assured, if you exit the lab the panels will still be activated, so go and heal up to prepare to go up!
- Going up the stairs leads you to a room filled with...Pokemon? Oh dear…
- Kadabra, Level 48, Psychic
- Xatu, Level 48, Flying/Psychic
- Alakazam, Level 49, Psychic
- After defeating Scientist No. 06, collect the item ball on the table containing Cage Card 4. Use this to unlock the respective cage holding a Magmortar, who destroys part of a wall to the lower left corner of the room!
- Going there nets you Cage Card 2. Once again, unlock the respective cage, this time holding a Glaceon; it will head to the south of the room and freeze a once impassable area, allowing you to cross!
- Gardevoir, Level 48, Psychic/Fairy
- Porygon-Z, Level 50, Sound

- Porygon-Z, Level 53, Sound
- After viewing a short cutscene, you are now able to head back to Spurge City, where the Gym will finally be open to challenge! Get a move on!
Spurge City Gym
- Before talking to the leader in the first room, I highly recommend you do anything you need to do and make sure you have a fully trained team of six Pokemon. Save and continue.
- Once you speak to the leader at the start, he will trick you! Taking away your Pokemon you are left to find them yourself!
- The ladder to the right of you takes you to an old man who will charge 400 Pokedollars to escape the Gym with your Pokemon in case you’re not prepared.
- Head to the right, ignore the trainer and press the button on the wall. This removes the Strength boulder and lets you find a stick of Dynamite!
- See the rock on the left? Interact with it to blow it up with the Dynamite, letting you access a ladder to a platformer level!
- Head down the ladder to pick up your first Pokemon!
- The way this works is it gives you your lowest level Pokemon first, no matter what Poke Ball you choose. If you have Pokemon tied at a certain level, it will choose the one with the least experience earned first!
- Head up the ladder, jump across the pit and head to the end of the path to a room and find your second Pokemon!
- Don’t bother with the red switch, it’s disabled. Head back and fight the first trainer; it’s Josiah!
- Charizard, Level 48, Fire/Flying
- Magcargo, Level 50, Fire/Rock
- After defeating Josiah, head into the cave up ahead and press the button. Head all the way back to where the red switch was; it’s enabled! Switch it to find your third Pokemon!
- Head left from where the cave with the button was to find your fourth Pokemon!
- Head all the way to the right to fight the second trainer. What do you know, it’s Rinji!
- Alternatively, Edison or Cadence are also available to battle; I’ll be listing the leaders in the order they originally appeared, but if you choose to fight them first, find them listed below.
- Leader Rinji
- Ludicolo, Level 49, Water/Grass
- Tangrowth, Level 51, Grass
- Venusaur, Level 52, Grass/Poison
- The cave Rinji was guarding has your fifth Pokemon!
- Seeing as though Brooklyn isn’t here, make your way to the left to find Edison guarding a cave this time!
- Of course, you’re also able to battle Cadence next if you so wish.
- Leader Edison
- Houndoom, Level 51, Fire/Dark
- Weavile, Level 52, Dark/Ice
- Umbreon, Level 53, Dark
- In the cave Edison was guarding is the 8th Gym Leader, but he won’t battle you unless you find your last Pokemon; which may as well be guarded by Cadence!
- Loudred, Level 50, Sound
- Wigglytuff, Level 53, Fairy/Sound
- Magnezone, Level 53, Electric/Steel
- Exploud, Level 54, Sound
- Move ahead from where Cadence was to find your sixth and last Pokemon!

- Aggron, Level 52, Steel/Rock
- Magneton, Level 53, Electric/Steel
- Metagross, Level 54, Steel/Psychic

- Be extra careful with your own Steel types here, as Magneton and Magnezone can potentially trap them with Magnet Pull!
- Defeating Bruce rewards you with the Naljo Badge and TM43 Flash Cannon!
- Now that you’ve acquired 8 badges, it’s time to challenge the Naljo League! Head back to Acania Dock and head to the water route of Route 68 to the right!
Route 68
- Please refer back to Surf Backtracking to find more info of Route 68, including all the trainers and items. Most of the trainers here will be underleveled compared to your team if this is your first time going through it.
- Once you get to the end, the guard in the building will let you pass since you have all 8 Naljo Badges! Head onto Route 67!
Route 67
- This route has a Pokemon Center, and access to Seneca Caverns through the cave, which is your next destination!
- Alternatively, to the right is a gate leading to Ember Brook, which in turn leads to Mt. Ember itself! I’ll cover it here quickly as new Pokemon and items can be found here, but skip to Seneca Caverns if you decide to not explore.
Ember Brook > Mt. Ember
- This mountain is under construction, but does have most of it explorable! You are also able to encounter the Legendary Pokemon Moltres here at the top of the mountain as you make your way through, which will be covered in the Legendary Pokemon section.

- Near Moltres is a cave opening into the mountain; inside this cave is a Heat Rock!
- To the left of Moltres and by some grass is 3 Ultra Balls!

- Above the first body of water is a ladder, take it down to find a Leftovers!
- South of Scientist No. 11 is a ladder; take it down to find 2 Rare Candies, then another ladder down to find a Max Revive behind a Strength boulder!
- In the same room as the Max Revive, head to the left to find a ladder going up; there awaits you TM10 Hidden Power!
- Deeper down from the room with the Max Revive you can find the Legendary Pokemon Articuno, which will be covered in the Legendary Pokemon section!
- Beyond Guitarist Ozzy is an Elixir!
- Now that you got out of Seneca Caverns, you’re back on Route 67, this time on the other side!
Route 67 (Second Part)
- Head to the left to Route 65!

- Weavile, Level 53, Dark/Ice
- Salamence, Level 54, Dragon/Flying
- Defeating your Rival for one final time allows you to move forward to the League!
Naljo League
- Congratulations, you’ve made it to the end! Heal, stock, do whatever you need to do before tackling the Elite Four, because once you go in, you can’t come back out!
- Going in, the first of the E4 has an ice puzzle before facing her!

- Mamoswine, Level 53, Ground/Ice
- Weavile, Level 54, Dark/Ice
- Glalie, Level 55, Ice
- Froslass, Level 55, Ice/Ghost
- Glaceon, Level 56, Ice
- As you may have guessed, she’s an Ice type trainer. All her Pokemon will immediately try to set up Hail, so it’s best to brute force it to deal with fewer problems.
- Continue after her, then go up to face off against the next E4!
- Gyarados, Level 54, Water/Flying
- Pidgeot, Level 55, Normal/Flying
- Gliscor, Level 56, Ground/Flying
- Drifblim, Level 56, Ghost/Flying
- Altaria, Level 58, Flying/Dragon
- Electric types beware! Most of his Pokemon pack a counter towards them, so be cautious! His Altaria is surprisingly not very threatening.
- Continue after Sora to the next room and face the next E4!
- Rhydon, Level 56, Rock/Ground
- Steelix, Level 56, Ground/Steel
- Flygon, Level 58, Ground/Dragon
- Donphan, Level 58, Ground
- Rhyperior, Level 60, Rock/Ground
- Electric types beware, this time for real. Daichi’s team packs a punch, so be wary of switching into things if it’s grounded, or it’ll take an Earthquake to the face.
- After defeating Daichi, move on to the next room. If you’ve played Brown, this next E4 might be a familiar face; it’s Mura!
- Fearow, Level 58, Normal/Flying
- Tyranitar, Level 58, Rock/Dark
- Houndoom, Level 59, Fire/Dark
- Ludicolo, Level 59, Water/Grass
- Weezing, Level 60, Poison/Gas
- Leafeon, Level 60, Grass
- Mura has no specific type, but it should be easy to counter! He’s also smart enough to switch Pokemon, so be careful of that, or use it to your advantage!
- Now head to your final battle...with the Champion! It’s your dad, Lance!
- Salamence, Level 61, Dragon/Flying
- Gyarados, Level 61, Water/Flying
- Altaria, Level 63, Flying/Dragon
- Garchomp, Level 63, Dragon/Ground
- Charizard, Level 64, Fire/Flying
- Flygon, Level 65, Ground/Dragon
- Your dad is Lance, the Champion, who specializes in Dragon types! The final battle is here! Be extra careful of that Altaria and Charizard, by the way, as they carry Perish Song and Hyper Beam, respectively.
- And with that, after a short cutscene, you’re given the Rijon Pass and entered into the Hall of Fame! Congratulations! You’ve beaten the main story of Pokemon Prism!
So you’ve completed the main story, what’s next? It’s Rijon time! The Professor says you can now go through the Tunnel on Route 70, so skip to the Back to Tunnel section of the guide if you wish to progress with a walkthrough!
The cool thing about postgame is that you can tackle any of the remaining gyms out of order if you’d like, but for the sake of this walkthrough I’ll be going in the order shown on the Trainer Card, starting with Badge 9!
But for now, as you may recall, there were some interesting legendaries waiting for someone to catch them! Let’s go do just that!
Legendary Pokemon
- There were several legendaries we came across on our journey, and also several others that have now popped up! I’ll be listing them below, but there is no correct order to catch these; just pick one to find and you’ll find it!
Varaneous
- You awakened Varaneous at Firelight Caverns during your journey, and now it’s roaming throughout the Naljo Region! Using your Pokedex, or simply just searching the grass, you’ll be able to find this legendary; it won’t flee once you find it like other roamers, so be prepared to catch it on the first encounter!
- Varaneous, Level 50, Fire/Water
- Bubblebeam
- Lava Pool
- Dragon Claw
- Boil
Libabeel
- You may have noticed a Pokemon waiting on an island in the middle of the Acqua Mines as you entered from Phlox Town. To reach it, take a mine cart from Clathrite Tunnel, Mound Cave or Firelight Caverns to the Acqua Mines, back where you started your journey. Surf through the water to find an opening at the top left, where going through it will lead you to another part of the Mines. If you follow it all the way, and the tide is low enough (see Acqua Mines (Second Part) for tides), you should be able to get to the legendary Pokemon Libabeel!
- Libabeel, Level 50, Steel/Poison
- Iron Tail
- Poison Gas
- Wild Charge
- Poison Jab
Articuno
- At the bottom of Seneca Caverns is an area filled with water; heading to the lowest level you should find a small passage with water, Surf across it to find the legendary Pokemon Articuno!
- Articuno, Level 50, Ice/Flying
- Aerial Ace
- Haze
- AncientPower
- Ice Beam
Moltres
- On the outside of Mt. Ember, heading to the top right will have you find the legendary Pokemon Moltres!
- Moltres, Level 50, Fire/Flying
- Wing Attack
- Morning Sun
- AncientPower
- Boil
Phancero
- You’re going to need at least 2 Cage Keys and Rock Smash for this.
- Head to the Haunted Mansion past Botan City; inside the mansion’s first floor, go through the left room entrance, and you’ll see that the old lady blocking the basement is no longer there! Go down to the basement to find some locked doors! Unlock the southern door, then the door after it to reveal a hidden warp panel under a rock that needs to be smashed!
- To the right of the warp panel is an item ball containing TM71 Shadow Claw!
- To the north is another cage door; if you have more Cage Keys, you can unlock it to find a Cleanse Tag!
- Step onto the warp panel to be warped into a strange glitch city! You’ll also encounter a birdlike Pokemon waiting to be interacted with; once you do, it will disappear, but only until you progress more into the weird area! Once you find it a few more times, at the end you’ll be able to find it atop a little mountain, where you can finally battle the legendary Pokemon Phancero!
- Phancero, Level 70, Ghost/Flying
- Shadow Ball
- Sky Attack
- Water Gun
- Wrap
- The area will loop until you catch it. Once you’ve caught it, it will warp you out of the glitchy area, and you’ll also get a little message saying your bag felt a bit heavier; a homage to Missingno. Inside your bag you’ll find 7 Great Balls!
