Put safety eyes on. You finished at the tail, so the eyes go on the head which is the side you started on.

Fill with coffee beans

Do not fill tail

Cut yarn and knot

Thread yarn to close circle

Now thread yarn in middle of circle (picture) inside to where the tail meets the body, repeat this going from center of tail to base of tail around until the base of the tail/body is smaller and tighter

Pull to the center of tail, knot and cut yarn

Legs (Make six of them)

Row 1: Ch 6 and knot leave 1” of yarn before and after

You have made one leg.

Pull both ends to keep them thin and pointy

Sew each leg to lobster body with hand needle

Knot ends of legs

Trim extra yarn

Antennae (Make two of them)

Cut a 6” strand of yarn and thread through front of lobster face

Arms of claw:

Tips for Beginners:

  1. After making your initial chain you crochet in both the front and back loop, not just one loop unless specified.
  2. Tension, tension, tension. Hold your yarn at the right tension by wrapping the yarn around the fingers in your less dominant hand, this ensures even stitches and sizes.
  3. Frequently stretch your hand/wrist every half hour to prevent soreness.
  4. Store your yarn with natural fragrances like lavender, vanilla or cinnamon if you want an extra special touch!

Good to know: Natural yarn fibers such as cotton and wool scraps can be put outside for birds to use in their nests! This is helpful when you have yarn scraps you don’t have a use for.
