When they began their research, Ofer had over 15 years of  practical experience working with children and adolescents, first as therapeutic mentor and then as a psychotherapist.

Ofer completed two academic degrees before embarking on his doctoral research, but also had many years of practical experience working with hundreds of struggling children and adolescents in various settings and positions Before and during his academic studies, he had worked as a teacher in regular and Special education schools, and had practised for many years as a therapeutic mentor, working with children and adolescents in their natural environment.

I, Ofer, am a 53-year-old father of four, and an experienced psychotherapist in Israel. I have worked with children and adolescents in various roles and settings for over two decades. I took my BA at Bar-Ilan University here in Israel and was then accepted to the Israeli extension of Derby University, in their first cohort of MSc in Psychotherapy. I graduated with merit from that programme, together with my business partner and fellow psychotherapist Anat Ben Salmon.
