Jack T. Constantino was born August 19, 1911, in New York City, son of Anna Santorino and Anthony Constantino, one of ten children.
He was a veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1943. After his discharge from the Air Force, he was returning home when he crossed roads with LoRaine Wozniak, a student at Mercy Rosalia Nursing School, fell in love, married and had three children, two of which are living.
His first born, LoRaine Constantino, graduated from St. Francis Academy and Clarion University, pursuing a career as a Speech Therapist with Allegheny County. She is married to Kenneth Sholder and has one daughter, Cherre Sholder Hensley, a graduate of Carlow College and married to Dr. Joseph Hensley.
Jack T. Constantino is the only living son of Jack and LoRaine. He attended St. Joseph’s Military School, St. Gabriel Middle School, and South Hills Catholic School. Upon receiving an athletic scholarship, he attended Thiel College and the University of Pittsburgh, from which he earned a bachelor’s degree. He is President and C.E.O. of C.D.S. Lines and Collective Distribution Services, Inc. located in Canonsburg, Pa. Jack is married to Nancy Papa and has two step-children, Richard and Sam.
Jack Constantino was a self made man. Although he attended school only to the sixth grade, he became an astute business man. His business career began with the opening of his first confectionery store at 205 Braddock Avenue. Later he relocated his business to the North Side of Pittsburgh where he was in business for forty years as the owner of confectionery stores on Federal Street, East Street and Jacksonia Street. He also owned and operated real estate property. Later, he invested in A.S.A., Ltd. and Collective Distribution Services, Inc.
After ten years of illness, he died on January 1, 1991.
