Terms of Service

Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday: Working on commissions

Saturday-Sunday: OFF*

*Schedule may vary

You must be 18 years or older to commission me. No exceptions.

By commissioning me, you are acknowledging and agreeing to these Terms of Service.

As the artist, I reserve the rights to refuse, reject, or cancel commissions at any stage if feel the need to do so.

I reserve the right to interpret your character in my own style. I use a light color palette, and may change colors slightly, as it is a part of my style to do so.

General Information

All commission correspondence will be done by email only (via orders@stormtail.com), however small inquiries can be made via the note system on FurAffinity or direct messages on Twitter.

It is the responsibility of the commissioner to provide me with the necessary information to complete the commission. I usually do not accept multiple photos as a reference for certain pieces, and will most likely reject your commission if you are unable to provide a proper visual reference. Having said, I do not accept character descriptions for reference, either. All references must be visual.

All personal information, including name, email and shipping address will never be shared or sold. I take personal privacy seriously. Therefore, I am willing to do private or anonymous commissions upon request.

I cannot accept commissions that include trademarked characters of any kind, only original characters.

All payments made to me must be via PayPal, as I accept no other form of payment. I live in the United States, so my currency is USD.

Payment is due up-front before I begin any artwork, and must be paid in full within 24 hours of my having sent you the invoice. Any longer and I reserve the right to refuse service. To make it easier on myself and the commissioner, please have funds ready in your account BEFORE commissioning me. However, in certain situations, some exceptions can be made.

Turn around time is currently 1-2 weeks. Please take note that larger commissions (such as wallpapers or reference sheets) may take longer. Also, the amount of customers on my queue may make the turn around time longer than expected. Please familiarize yourself with my queue when commissioning me. Rush orders will require a fee, depending on the amount of time I am given to complete a certain piece. Rush orders are also not always available, and are discussed on a case by case basis. However I am almost always willing to rush badges for conventions, just make sure to ask.

After receiving payment in full I will begin your commission as soon as I am able. All commissions other than sketches, icons, and badges will receive progress updates unless stated otherwise. You will receive a rough sketch for approval, and after changes are made I will complete the piece and send the finished file to the customer’s email address.

I do not allow large edits or alterations unless they are my mistakes. This is subject to vary depending on the project and size of the alterations. This also goes for those that ask for alternate versions of a commission AFTER they have sent payment. I am not obligated to provide an alternate version after the fact, even if the commissioner offers compensation retroactively. If you want two versions of the same commission you need to tell me before you send payment. (Depending on how drastic the changes, a fee might occur.) Otherwise, it’s too late once I start your piece.

I reserve the right to issue a refund for any given reason at any time. When this happens, the commissioner will be issued a full refund.

Commissioners also reserve the right cancel their commission for any reason at any time. If no work has been done on their commission, they will receive a full refund. However, if work has been done, they will receive only a partial refund, depending on how much work has been done.

Artwork that is completed is non-refundable.

While the commissioner retains the rights of their personal characters, I retain the rights to the piece of artwork. The commissioner is allowed to reupload the piece of artwork in their personal galleries, so long as credit is given to me. The commissioner is also allowed to crop the image to use as icons, backgrounds, or for other display purposes. However they are NOT allowed to change or edit the piece of artwork itself. The commissioner may not reproduce the artwork or make money off of it in any way, and does not have the rights for commercial use unless explicitly told otherwise.

I, too, reserve the right to display the commissioned piece in any place I see fit, whether it be a banner on a website, or cropped image for display purposes. I also reserve the right to make and sell prints of any commissioned artwork. This includes stickers, buttons, or other forms of physical copies of the artwork. If the commissioner does not want their commission to be reproduced in any way, it needs to be discussed beforehand (e.g. private, personal, or anonymous commissions).

Do you livestream commissions?

I do not have a set streaming schedule, and probably never will. Therefore I can’t guarantee I will be able to livestream your commission. If you want to know if I can or not, feel free to ask.

Can I have your Skype address?

I do not use Skype very often. If you need to get a hold of me for commission-related things, please email Orders@Stormtail.com! If you just want to chat you can usually find me on Twitter!

What format will I get the commission file in? Can I have the .PSD?

I will send you the hi-res file in .PNG format. If you want the .PSD file, you need to tell me beforehand.

Will you design a character for me?

It depends on what types of commissions I’m open for at the moment, but I very much enjoy designing characters.

Are you willing to take installments?

I do not, under any circumstances.

Do you reserve slots?

I do not. If you reserve a slot make sure you can pay within 24 hours of reserving said slot. You will lose your slot if you are unable to pay, as stated in the Terms of Service.

What kind of art are you unwilling to draw?

There are a few themes I am not comfortable with, many of which are fetish-related. Besides those certain adult themes, I am not comfortable drawing the following:

In short, I am only open to drawing cartoonized anthropomorphic characters. If you are unsure of whether or not your commission falls under any of these categories, please ask. Same goes for fetish-related art.

I changed my fursona in the middle of the commission process. Will you make changes to accommodate?

Depending on how far along your commission is/how big of a change you have made to the character, there is a slim chance this is going to happen. But again, it never hurts to ask. Make SURE you know what you want BEFORE commissioning me. It’s a hassle to both me and the commissioner when this happens in the middle of the commission process.
