Congratulations to the RV Rocket Team!  They submitted payload proposals to Ball Aerospace and United Launch Alliance for a summer rocket launch payload competition.  Their proposal was accepted and a group of RV students will be working on a payload guidance system over the next few weeks in hopes of guiding the payload in the earth's troposphere down to a specific target.  Good luck Mustangs!

Students are reminded that Thursday is a special morning schedule due to our Make-A-Wish Assembly.  I.C.E. will run from 7:25 – 7:45 a.m. and 2nd period will begin at 7:50 a.m. Assembly schedules are posted in the Main Office, Athletic and Counseling windows.

MAKE-A WISH:

•        Tomorrow is GREEN OUT DAY!  Porter is our Make-a-Wish child and green is his favorite color, so show your support for Porter by wearing green to the assembly.

•        The Annual Make-A-Wish Assembly will begin tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.  Meet Porter and his family and watch students take part in lively games to garner his favor.  Also, take part in Miracle Minute during 2nd block, in which we raised over $6,000 in just one minute last year. A number to beat!

•        Go to Buffalo Wild Wings at 80th and Carr from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. to support Porter and the Make-A-Wish foundation.  Make sure to mention you’re with Ralston Valley and bring a flyer.

•        It’s Pie the Prez time!  Tomorrow your Class Presidents and Class Assistant Principals will be collecting money for this hilarious fundraiser.  Donate money to your class president and/or Assistant Principal.  If your class raises at least $100, pies will be thrown at your class president as well as your class Assistant Principal during the Make-a-Wish assembly next week.  If all 4 classes reach the goal, we get to pie Mr. Goodrich and Student Body President Mary Diesslin!

•        Just like Pie the Prez, some of your beloved classmates will be collecting money in a fundraiser called Kiss the Pig.  Donate money to:  Freshmen – Parks Jones and Peyton Marrone, Sophomores – Chase Wilson and Abby Reinke, Juniors – Thomas Harries and Dani Dantin and Seniors – Marshall Marrs and Mia Aranda.  If they are able to raise at least $100 they will kiss a pig at the Make-a-Wish assembly on Thursday, February 1.

Make-A-Wish:

•        Buy a “Prime Parking Spot” to park in the West parking lot.  The cost is $25 and can be purchased during both lunches on Friday, January 26th!  There are only 11 spots available so don’t miss out!  All proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish. Those of you who have a current parking pass are eligible. This “Prime” spot is good for the entire week of January 29th – February 2nd.

•        RV’s hockey team takes to the Ice at the APEX Center tonight at 6:30 p.m.  We will have a Miracle Minute during the 1st intermission.  Purchase a puck for Chuck – a – Puck.  All funds will go to Make-A-Wish.

•        Tonight during halftime for both the boys and girls basketball games we will hold our Annual Miracle Minute!

Students and staff are reminded of the “Recognizing Mustangs” program that allows you to recognize fellow students and staff members for achievements both in and out of the Ralston Valley setting.  All you need to do is to stop by the Main Office and fill out a form that will result in the recognition being given over the morning announcements.  Come on – let us know – we know there are lots of great things being accomplished out there!!

Girls’ soccer pre-season conditioning will be on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays beginning today from 3:15 – 4:30 p.m. in W-hall - - - - bring your running shoes.

Girls interested in lacrosse, Coach Lohmiller will be having a parent/player meeting on Thursday January 18, 6:30 p.m. in the library.

Boys interested in lacrosse, Coach Lewis will be having a parent/player meeting on Thursday January 18, 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Remember, today is Abo’s Pizza’s $2 a slice day!  A portion of the proceeds are donated back to RV for After Prom and Make-A-Wish.
