Bird Feeder

Our new bird feeder is proving to be a big hit with our community. Since its installation on the 26th of June, seed has been purchased 1260 times. Our ducks have never been so healthy. We have encouraged our friends from the RSPB who have been on hand to advise against feeding bread etc to the wildlife on our lake.

The Lake

Recently we had the large logs removed from the lake next to the floating islands, hopefully this will make it easier to remove the rubbish that’s gets caught around the logs. Following offers from member of the Friends of Platt Fields and residents to clean the lake up, Jenni and I hope to get a volunteer group together in Sept/Oct this year to help clean the lake up. If you are interested, please email parks@manchester.gov.uk

Skatepark Engagement Sessions.

We held 2 public engagement session recently; both were well attended and very positive. The consultant, James, was very impressed about the energy and love for the park of everyone who attended. We are looking at options we have available to try and resolve the skatepark and bring it back to Platt Fields.
