Advanced Placement (A.P.) Classes:

AP European History                          $75/Month, $333 Upfront Discounted Semester Rate

This is a challenging, college-level extension to the regular 10th grade European history class, and is open only to 10th graders who have shown academic promise and are ready to challenge themselves.  Learn in greater depth about all those monarchies, wars, and Treaties of Paris.  Discover why witchcraft flourished in the 15th century but died out, unravel the mysteries of the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment, and explore how anti-Semitism reared its ugly head throughout European history. This is an academically rigorous course, but the rewards you reap from challenging yourself are priceless.

 

AP US History                                         $75/Month, $333 Upfront Discounted Semester Rate

This is a challenging, college-level extension to the regular 11th grade U.S. history class, open only to 11th graders. Read about the Founding Fathers in their own words, delve into the mysteries of the Haymarket Square bombing, and learn to write killer essays that will earn high scores on the AP U.S. History exam.  This is an academically rigorous course, but the rewards you reap from challenging yourself are priceless.

AP English                                           $75/Month, $333 Upfront Discounted Semester Rate

ADVANCED PLACEMENT LANGUAGE AND COMPOSITION

A.P. English Language is a college-level course that explores the way strong writers write.  You have an opportunity to work with highly motivated, college-bound juniors and seniors, in an atmosphere encouraging creativity and rigorous scholarship.

A.P. English is the longest-running A.P. course in the school.  Testing results are, on average, the highest at LKHA.  Recently, 85% of those who tested in English received passing scores of 3 or higher.

AP Calculus                                        $75/Month, $333 Upfront Discounted Semester Rate

AP Calculus is a college-level extension to the regular 12th grade Calculus class.  This course follows the Advanced Placement syllabus and will include properties of functions, limits, differential calculus, integral calculus, symbolic differentiation and integration utilities.  The main focus will be to promote the expertise in material and practices needed to pass the AP Exam.

This is the Drama Club's 30th year!  We will be producing “The Good Doctor” by Neil Simon. Rehearsals should be very enjoyable.

You should join Drama if you want to challenge yourself, develop your public speaking skills, work as a part of a team for a common goal, interact with students from various grade levels, experience the satisfaction that comes from presenting a professional-level play to family and friends.  Colleges want you to develop these valuable social skills.

Art: Drawing                                           $60/Month, $270 Upfront Discounted Semester Rate

This is course in art that is focused around drawing, but depending on student interest, may progress to painting.
