1102 Fit extruder bracket - to 14 April

Fit the extruder bracket to the outside face of the Z-tower using the M4 x 10 button head screws and T-nuts. Position it halfway up the exposed section of extrusion, and tighten.

1103 Mount extruder

NOTE: To ensure a long life for your extruder gears you should lubricate them with a little lithium grease or similar (petroleum jelly will do). This is easiest done before mounting the extruder. Repeat occasionally, particularly if you see a lot of plastic dust on the extruder block.

For extruder with metal pushfit and separate bracket

Position the extruder motor on the bracket with the pushfit resting in the U-shaped notch. While supporting it in position, insert  the M3 x 25 capscrew in the right-hand mounting hole and screw in until it engages with the M3 captive nut. Pass the M3 x 16 capscrew through the left-hand bracket hole and extruder body and add the M3 nut. Tighten both bolts.

For extruder with prefitted bracket and plastic pushfit

Mount the complete unit on the outside face of the Z-tower using the M4 x 10 button head screws and T-nuts as described for the separate bracket in Section 1102 above. Position it halfway up the exposed section of extrusion, and tighten.

Now go on to the next Chapter.
