Dear Mr de Laszlo,

I send this card in case you & Mrs de Laszlo care to come & see Mr Pollock’s beautiful [works?] & have tea with me?

I saw you at “The Apple Cart” one night but [near?] not

near enough to speak to you.[1]

Will you both pray specially for Sir Arthur on Saturday, 30th  the day he died. R.I.P.[2]

[1] The Apple Cart by George Bernard Shaw was written for the first Malvern Drama Festival in 1929, after which it was transferred to the Queen’s Theatre, London, where it ran for 258 performances from 17th September 1929 to 24th May 1930.

[2] Lady Clavell Salter’s husband, Sir Arthur Clavell Salter, the Hon. Mr Justice Salter, died on 30th November 1928.
